I played soccer when I was in junior high. It was alright to play. The only thing that really sucked was I was the goalie and playing in Upstate NY in the fall it would be freezing and you couldn't do much of anything to keep you warm enough. And the penalty kick is the most unfair thing in sports. But soccer is un-watchable. Watched, I think it was France vs. Italy a couple of cups ago to give it a chance and it was just un-watchable. Essentially they're only going to score when somebody flops and either gets a penalty kick or a corner kick and then they score on a header. I actually liked the movie Goal! They did it right by not trying to force feed the viewer that these guys are amazing athletes and just focused on the cool things of being a pro soccer player in England and the fans and players passion for the sport. I can't tell you how many of my friends claim they like soccer but really don't and are just watching it to come off as sophisticated. Makes me want to vomit.
@droppedmycap15943 ай бұрын
Nah bro. Unfortunately you started watching football when everyone from the golden era retired or are past their prime and are about to retire. Me and many die hard soccer fans, experience the same snoozefest games you just described. It’s not uncommon for us to just cut the game off. This is due to a shift in tactics from coaches who stifle the abilities of players, forcing them to play very safe, And the influx of self-proclaimed “prodigies” who essentially all play the same. Its losing what made it special, its actually a trending topic. You kinda have to search and wait for select games to have good experiences. Any type of South American or African cup tournaments seems to be alright imo, because they play like it’s their life on the line, which for most of them it is lol.

I watched thousands of hours of Patrice over the years and love him but he is actually wrong here in most of his facts. Less goals makes every goal way more valuable, that's why the fans go crazy and the commentators as well when someone scores a goal, it takes work and strategy to get one, and to keep the other team from scoring one, it's much more complex than a touchdown. Just hard to get into if you don't know all the subtleties. It's like watching football without knowing about downs, interceptions, what a QB is, or what a punt is. Of course you won't like it. Also women's soccer is a joke, not sure why Patrice would say that.

@@scotthogan1374 right, americans only watch things full of African Americans

@@tomjones8189 your comment is stupid. So your saying a lot of Africans don't play Soccer? You third worlders need to just accept America doesn't like Soccer because we have better, higher scoring sports i.e. real football and basket ball. There is nothing exciting about watching a bunch of nobodies kick a ball around for 4 hours for it to end 0-0.

As a football fan I will attest that no one, absolutely no one I know gives a fuck whether Americans like it or not. The only time the USA is ever a consideration is when we make fun of how trash the MLS is or if our national team is lucky enough to play the USA (if they some how qualified) in group stages because we know it will be an easy win.

The only thing i hate about soccer is that games can end up in a tie.....if is a tie at the end they should have penalty kicks ...so that there is a ending to the fucking game. Mot sit for 90 minutes just to watch a game that ends in 0-0....🤦🏻♂️
