I remember long ago when you were building the first bridge. I became a subscriber then. Since then I've watched you build your home, the water wheel, the POND. Great photography coverage and editing. It made me really sad to see your bridge wash away. When I see you moving those stones in the river, I think of all the ones you put out there not so long ago. OK for all the people from the USA.. no building code, no EPA, no neighbor with a bad attitude complaining because she is doing something the neighbor does not like... Freedom! I must say i would have beefed up the metal and would have connected it differently to the concrete pillars! but it worked and was far safer than bamboo! Great Video

What huge work manually building this ! Cool build ! I woory about under scoring of the pillar bases over time , doe. There is no piling done under them, anchored in the slabs and they dont reach that deep into the river bed either.... To insure long life of structure , the stack some bigger rocks around those slabs ,dont forget the down stream side. Also put drain holes into the tubes so they don collect water inside and rust.

This takes determination. But she should have filled out the retaining walls with concrete too, and gave them some buttresses in front. The cement platforms should be thicker than just a few inches, and she could have built trusses. This way they don't bounce when you walk on them. It will also support the weight of carts I am sure she will roll across it. Otherwise she gave a good go of it. It may seem like I am complaining, but water is powerful, and I am sure that stream floods yearly. It would be sad if it failed with people walking on it.

I might have missed it, but I never saw you attach the deck of the bridge to the concrete pillars. If the water gets that high this year during the rainy season it will wash your bridge away again. I hope not.
