I am trying to learn coloured pencil drawing so I have been watching your videos closely, even slowing them down and watching then a few times. I thought I had a handle on the process - single stokes for fur and feathers, a very light covering to get rid of the white in a mid colour, then lightest colours first, graduating along the colours to the darkest, then the final darkest black, then white highlights. You started this art work in this way, but then did the total opposite half way through and started with the darkest, so I am now totally confused ! Please tell me why did you do the head and shoulders one way, and the torso and legs the opposite way ?

Hi 👋 It usually comes down to the depth of colours involved and also i don’t always have my process set in stone but I follow my nose with what feels right at the time. However “in general” I map out the strokes, then build up the depth and colour and finish with more detail and glazing, layering again if needed.
