Adding a piece of lexan above the backdrag section might be helpful to keep snow inside without reducing visibility. Toss me a bone if you use my idea. I build my own blades and use lexan all the time.

Why do you need to see the snow, just put a full metal plate, in Canada we already see too much snow, push it then blow it off...
