Confirming some comments, yes the black cat is a past traveler and the white cat is a future traveler, split from the same cat from before it touched the hourglass. I don't have canon names ( placeholder named Past and Future ) and genders for them so feel free to assume what u like!
The title and thumbnail for the song itself were the main inspiration for the animation, hence the hourglass and the purple yellow palette.

They are one entity. Did you notice the black cat had heterochromia (yellow and purple eyes) and white markings before it touched the hourglass? In the "time realm" its all black with two yellow eyes , while the white cat has purple eyes
