Glad you had a nice time in Liverpool mate, its a poor city money wise, but in friendliness its the richest in the world. Next time look up the Casbah hotel in Haymans Green, West Derby Village, its Pete Bests mums old house & where he, John, Paul & George used the cellar as a youth club, later to be named the Casbah, the clubs still in the cellar, as it was 59/60, but you have to book a tour for that, I worked on it doing the electrical work, heard some fascinating stories from ' Rouge' Petes brother, about the lads,he was actually born with the lads sitting around smoking on the stairs, it should be opening soon.

One other point it was nice seeing a picture of the late great Joe Strummer next to the statue of " The four lads who shook the world " in Mathew St, Joe was a Punk legend who rallied against injustices and the establishment and was a big Lennon fan on the quiet, RIP 🙏 John & George and of course Joe.

There's a movie called Violent Playgrounds and stars a very young David McCallum that was filmed in Liverpool (except for the final schoolhouse scene) around 1958-59 and shows alot of the city as it was then when The Beatles were forming and started gigging. The Eleanor Rigby explanation is quite wrong. The young Beatles would sit at the edge of the church located between John's and Paul's homes, and they noticed the grave marker for Eleanor Rigby in the church grounds (you can still see it today), and the song evolved from that and other thoughts they had while sitting on the fence at the edge of the church grounds.
