Thank's all. Good movie about young reruits becoming Men "POLICEMEN" that is.

The "Chief" talking to the old cop, "you've been on the force for 23 years". When did he start on the force, when was 45 years old? Why is it always in movies and TV shows that cops never seem to be able to put in 25 years to retire with a pension? It's always 23 years and they look 68, 20 years and they look 56, 18 years and they look 50. Something always happens and they never put in their time. Have to quit or retire without a pension. Or they get arrested and indicted. Take the character "Detective John Munch" on "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit", he left the show in 2016 (but I guess he got a pension). The actor, Richard Belzer (who cracks me up every time I see him) was 72 years old in real life when left the show.

Good production values. Actors did their personas well. Plot standard tedium. These B movies during this time period typecast the actors in grit-your-teeth roles. I complain now but then, it was work at a time just as the Depression was ending and WWII was imminent.

Luckily in today's America - the Ends do not justify the Means as they do in this movie. I can think of several laws the police and the hero broke obtaining evidence illegally and resulting in two deaths.

And crime is out of control. You proved your own idea stupid.
@nomadpi1 Жыл бұрын
(1) It's a movie. (2) It was written as a B movie to fit a time frame, not be factual. (3) The laws of evidence, apprehension, t=investigation weren't considered for a B movie and everything has changed dozens of times since that time period. It's a movie - get it?

Engaging semi-primer that treats a serious subject with respect Hoped it would be a progressive intro of a woman to the force. Should have known when the title didn't use "girl." For all the injustices we must overlook in old movies, e.g., sexism, racism, stereotypes, etc., they can't be accused of ageism. They are peppered with seniors at all levels of responsibility and influence.
