Yeah. A infamous junkie named Steve Jobs finished a job application within seconds and interviewed on the same day while bare footed (he had no credentials , no experience and even fewer references) . Modern job applications require a sober applicant to perform 3 hours of background typing , 3 references and a 3 week wait for of a three tier interview with multiple levels of management (who expect you to have 3 years of college credentials and 9 years of work experience).

@CuestaBroadcasting
@CuestaBroadcasting 2 жыл бұрын
@@panteracfh2198 Sorry that you did not understand what I wrote. I know math is hard for some people. But the fact is that at 4:10, the video states, "The film ("Grease", 1978) made household names out of Travolta and his co-star, Olivia Newton-John." I wrote that they were already household names BEFORE the 1978 film Grease. I had a friend who had Olivia Newton John posters on her wall in 1974 which is BEFORE the 1978 film. In 1974, if you asked anyone in the US, Australia, or the UK, "Who is Olivia Newton-John", they would know. That is the definition of a household name. 1974 is a smaller number than 1978. That means that 1974 came before 1978. And John Travolta was a household name in 1975 after the debut of "Welcome Back Kotter." Again, 1975 is before the 1978 film "Grease". 1978 minus 1975 is 3. This means that John Travolta was a household name 3 years prior to when the video states. Sorry that you did not understand that. I know math is hard. Also in English we say, "they were", not "they was". For some people, grammar is hard too.

Obviously they want to jump on the "We love Olivia Newton-John" bandwagon. In 1972, she was touring to promote her debut album (released November 1971), so that will probably be mentioned. Still, could have used a picture from 1972 or at least one that isn't so obviously not from that year. EDIT: Also, the play on which the movie was based made its Broadway debut in 1972.

@beenaplumber8379
@beenaplumber8379 10 ай бұрын
This is a great way to learn about history, but I'd encourage you to talk to the people you meet who were alive back then. All a show like this can do is go over the facts. People who lived those events can give context and a sense of the importance of those facts. Right now we still have the opportunity to learn from people who were actually there. I used to think it was weird that my mom was alive and active in such historical events, but now I realize that at age 57, I lived through and remember events that to me were just part of growing up, but to others were part of history. Now I understand the value of elders in our knowledge of history. Facts are facts, but what was it like to live through the early Cold War, to have a dad who was part of WWII? There are still a lot of real people alive who can share those stories, and they are invaluable.

I am STILL listening to The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Listened to it yesterday. It's one of my favorite albums ever made. Love its bluesyness!

I graduated high school in 1974. I bought a "show room" model: Mercury Couger XR7 (351 cleavland block!) Sticker price:$6,400, I 'chewed' the sale' man down to $5,200! It was Black w/ a 'landau roof,' white interer. I can't buy a GOOD used car for that price! I signed the papers the night Pres. Nixon resigned; the other sales man wheeled in a TV and said: "Watch this, IT's HISTORY!" (man was HE RIGHT!) FYI: Gas was $0.33 for regular & $0.36 for PREAMEN !!! (pls excuse my spelling) God Bless...

Seeing Burt Reynolds on the thumbnail reminds me of my cousin, who was a dead ringer for Burt in the 70s. I was a lot younger than my cousin, and I always loved going places with him. Someone would say, hey there's Burt Reynolds! And we attracted a lot of chicks. He looked EXACTLY like him.
