B D -- Right then they try to make it seem like they were keeping it from him for his own good... meanwhile they openly admitted to using some of the money fund the husbands gambling addiction. The money was the homeless mans, what he did with it was on him. The people did not donate with the idea that the couple would hold the money for him... they did so with the understanding that it was going straight to him.

Apparently only homeless people can be "addicts", middle-class/celebrity junkies who can occasionally present a reasonably sober image are in a different category. Not condoning drug use in any way, just pointing out the hypocrisy of people deriding homeless people for drug use while ignoring celebrities constantly moving through revolving door treatment clinics. I guess if you can afford to blow hundreds of thousands on drugs/treatment and go through a continual addicted/sober cycle, it's not really addiction.

After mortgage and monthly bills...there's nothing left. These 2 scammed this man and used his money. They should spend time in jail. Addict or not..it is HIS money. They knew he was an addict. They made the decision to do this "go fund me" knowing that. If he squandered it on drugs..that was on him. None of their business.

judy funnie, do you think it’s reasonable for someone making 47K a year to buy a thousand dollar to two thousand dollar handbag? I don’t know the price of that specific bag, but I assume it’s around 1500.00. I have an LV bag, they aren’t cheap. I went to high school with girls carrying “LV bags” too. Mustlove Dogs you honestly think that’s impossible to afford on that salary? Does budgeting not exist? I keep seeing comments about how can they afford a trip/ bag with 40+K year and it’s honestly funny. judy funnie I never said it was impossible. Though, I don’t think that would a very wise financial decision. These people also bought a BMW, which had to cost at least a full year salary for her. What a big ass discouraging mess! All players in this situation have filthy hands! This couple was struggling to keep their heads above water, evident from the fact that McClure didn't even have money to put gas in the tank! I have no doubt that they contrived this scheme after realizing there was an opportunity for money to be made. When the money poured in, they pacified and took complete advantage of a known heroin addict with just enough to keep him quiet, but not enough to come between them and their lavish spending. Bobbit should have kept his last $20, and McClure should have trekked her sorry, broke ass home to her sorry ass pathetic excuse of a man, who apparently relies on her to bring home the bacon.

Mina Rosered totally agree and came to post a similar idea. In a way, I can understand not giving the homeless man full access. He has a major drug addiction. I don’t care what anyone says, he would have ripped through that money in no time. BUT, the couple had no right to use the money at their free will. It should have went into a legal trust for the homeless man, so the couple had zero access. And incremental payments each month based on rehab and drug tests.
