I feel like the devs gave themselves the option to bring Ganondorf/Demise back or move on. On one hand, you can look at TOTK and say he has been obliterated entirely. But on the other, you can view him as one of the many incarnations of Demise and so, he will be back.

This comparison of Ameraterasu/Hylia:: Mikaboshi: Demise is so on point, it didn’t occur to me until you brought it up here. In some tellings, the amatsu-mikaboshi existed before anything else, just chaos with no order. When order eventually came about, mikaboshi was pissed that Amaterasu was the new cool kid in town that had many human worshippers. This left mikaboshi to rule the underworld and plotting revenge to retake the kingdom that was once his. This definitely echoes Demise’s character with his hatred of humans (Hylians?) and nostalgia of when he ruled the whole enchilada

Super Sweet and glad that comparison rung true - that means a lot especially considering your immense knowledge - thanks for that! It just seemed to fit so well and the elements and symbology tend to echo that sentiment. Definitely a unique take, but one that tends to make the most sense in my head canon lol 🌟💚

What a theory!! First and foremost, happy birthday to little smiths! Secondly, you know how to make a theory that goes straight to my heart. The irrationality of phi becoming rational through fi and the spirit of the hero. The interconnected lives of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. Absolutely phenomenal! And of course, the spiral way that theories can and expand and grow multiplicatively. I don't even know what to say! It's pure beauty and art in the form of a theory for us in the forge and the whole zelda fanbase. A true masterpiece of a master theory.

Your comments about the golden power and spirals make me smile. You see I noticed that before you send the decayed master sword back in time, if you angle the camera juuust right on the inside of it, you can see a three part spiraling pattern of golden sparkles.

😮😮😮😱 This theory was not only beautiful, but so very fitting. Like a puzzle piece that has been missing. There is something very symbolic in the spirit of a sword (a spirit linked to the golden ratio) connecting the bearer of the blood of the goddess and the bearer of the spirit of the hero. A sword that was forged in fire, and in love. A sword that transcends time. A sword that gives hope to the world-standing between it and destruction. Yet, even a sword of such power requires someone to wield it. Enter the player, who takes up the task of defeating evil and bringing peace to the world. Some call it a curse that Link and Zelda must always face off against Demise/Ganondorf. It is, in a way, because it does rob them of an ordinary, peaceful life. But I’ve never viewed it as a curse so much as a commentary on what we ALL must choose to do in life: take up our own sword and strive for the good, or give in to the overwhelming power of evil and let it roll over us. “The breath of the wild calls out to the hero in us all.” That Hylia equipped her descendants and their heroes to combat such evil is inspiring. A message of hope. That Fi binds it all together, regardless of timelines, is utterly beautiful. And frees my mind from placing everything perfectly. 😂 (And I love that it is all centered on the story of Skyward Sword-that game deserved more appreciation! Midna definitely outshined Fi as a companion, but Fi established so many things! And that she was the spirit of the sword aiding Link in such an intimate and integral way always spoke to my heart.) P. S. Really liked that the video faded out on Fi’s theme. 😌

My theory is Zelda, in Tears of the Kingdom, travels back in time to the period before the prologue of Skyward Sword. Here is my reasoning. If Tears of the Kingdom's Gannon, was a reincarnation of Demise, where is Link? Where is the Master Sword. In theory if there is one, there should be the other, according to Demise's curse. TotK's Gannon doesn't recognize the master sword, he only knows of it via Raru and Zelda's discussion of it. My theory is this incarnation of Ganondorf predates Skyward Sword and the creation of the Master Sword. My theory is TotK Ganondorf - 'the Demon King' is related to Demise - 'the Demon King' (they both have the same skirt in their boss phase). I think the TotK Gannon although "sealed" by Raru, was able to leak out similar to the events seen in Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom. TotK Gannon's spirit is (or has become) Demise, in my theory. Demise's scar is where Gannon's sacred stone was mounted, and probably had to be torn away from the stones great spiritual power. Evidence to support this theory, the missing goddess statue. In Raru's time period, there's no giant Hylia goddess statue in the forgotten temple. I think this is because Hylia hasn't had to act yet. The Zonai are on the earth and they are handling the kingdom, however after Raru seals TotK Gannon, he and Mineru are out of commission leaving the kingdom Zonai-less and completely unprotected. In the Prologue of Skyward Sword, it describes 'a war of unmatched scale and ferocity the likes of which would never be seen again. One dark, fateful day, the earth cracked wide and malevolent forces rushed forth from the fissure. They mounted a brutal assault upon the surface people, driving the land into deep despair... They burnt forests to ash, choked the land's sweet springs, and murdered without hesitation.' I think this is what Hidemaro Fujibayashi alluded to when he said, "there may have been a history of destruction before the story of Hyrule's foundation". Because of Demise's rampage on earth is why we see so little of the OG Zonai architecture in the Zelda series, except what was hidden beneath the primitive looking Zonai structures in Faron. Raru doesn't even consider using the Triforce, because, one he can handle it on his own, and two it's still in Hylia's protection. It's also why Demise needs the power of the Triforce, because it's the only (in universe) item that would be more powerful than Raru and his spiritual stone. This theory explains the ruins of civilization on the earth's surface, in Skyward Sword. The mining facilities, the robots, the temples, all were originally part of Raru's Hyrule. It also may be why the dragons in Skyward Sword, (Lanayru, Farosh, and Eldin) can talk, and aren't big almost mindless flying guys. It might be because they were once Zonai and because of their Zonai DNA, the dragonification, takes longer, and they hold onto their sentience longer than, say the Hylian Zelda, did. They eventually do become giant sky guys because they are immortal, but the time between Zelda's time travel and Skyward sword isn't that long, so the dragons are still on the small side and still have clothes and can speak. The Shiekah aren't in the Zonai time period, because there is really no need for a group like the Shiekah. The Shiekah protected an served the Hylian Royal family and were the chosen protectors of the goddess Hylia. Raru wouldn't have needed protection by mere humans, and if my theory is true the goddess wouldn't be mortal yet. In my theory the Master Sword was taken back, by Zelda's time shift abilities, to before it was created, however the sword would be in Zelda's dragon hair, hidden and protected, during the forging of the Master Sword, and the events of Skyward Sword, and the entirety of all the time-lines for that matter, if I'm correct. No reboot necessary.

Great theory! I enjoyed watching this, and I definitely think the story will unveil itself further as more Zelda games get made. They aren’t done with Zelda and more things will be explained to us, but that’ll also bring more things that we don’t understand and will theorize about. Personally I don’t want to know everything, knowing everything means there’s no room to theorize and what kind of world would that be if we couldn’t theorize about Zelda stuff 😅 it would Be miserable that’s what! Haha can’t wait for the next vid! GG GS!

So... Zelda theorists ARE Calamity Ganon?!
@gamesmiths
@gamesmiths 8 ай бұрын
Can't speak for other theorists, and by that I mean literally anyone who makes a theory is just as valid as any youtuber, if not probably more so to be fair... But for me, I'd say the greatest threat to Zelda's future at times is how we might shut down the imagination of the many with overemphasised lore and "canon" gatekeeping nonsense that destorys the ability for people to have fun and consider possibilities we havent... So yeh, kinda 😅 But in classic Zelda dichotomy, we also counter the darkness with love and passion for the series, helping to keep the flame burning between "tends" and the gaps between games...because when you love Zelda games, it sticks with you and sharing that is something pretty cool. I've introduced Zelda to my daughter and nephews and they will carry their love of the games into the future hopefully way better than I do. So a bit like a Calamity, we pose a threat, and can be destructive at times, but true Heros in the community will always rise up to carry the future forward for the better. Funnily enough, this point is the basis of something I'm trying super hard to get out for Halloween (may not make it though 🤞🏽), but like any good story, sometimes it's the conflct at the heart of the tale between opposing forces that brings out the greatest epics and legends. So weird having this comment whilst scripting something small that riffs on that idea - that sometimes the "calamities" are actually key to bringing about change and legendary times. Foir without them, we may simply wallow in apathy and beaurocracy...and Hyrule would end up with more "King Rhoams" and less "Links" if you follow me 💚🌟 On a serious note, the theories coming out of the community, the people who right stuff in chats, and on videos or forums - they are usually epic, and well underrated for what they are. The best theorists are the ones noone is talking about in my mind, personal take of course 🌟 So keep being amazing and thanks for commenting and listening to my theories. Really appreciate it
