Bought that 85 XL350R today using the same tricks. Showed up and of ccourse wouldn't start. I opened the gas cap and asked him.."you just filled this tank with fresh gas didnt you" he said he did, but it had been sitting half a year since he wrecked it and broke his arm. He kicked it probably 40X..nothing.I laid it on its side until the float bowls puked all the brown crap gas out and it started afterwards about 10 kicks later and ran perfect. No clue if you will respond but I have 2 dirtbikes that have been sitting untouched since around 2014. Would this video apply to bikes that have not seen the light of day for that many years, or will that much time affect it in other ways that need repairs and such? Both 2012 Honda's, 150r and a 450f

Awesome wipe outs ,I seen a glimpse of the bw 80 ,you keep me watching by saying your having a video ,any way I got the bike for free ,I bought the whole top end ,wiseco piston and rings ,the knock off kx 65 carb ,the boyseen stage 2 reeds,with all the additional stuff that's needed is it really even worth building?,I'm doing everything you did to yours ,do you have a rough estimate of all the parts cost?,and if there's a profit to be made cause at the end of the day it's still a bw 80 ,I love building the bike though especially now with social distancing it gives me something to do.basically after all you did to yours especially with the ktm pipe was the build worth it and is it a fun bike to ride cause I'll just keep it myself ,I'm like your size maybe a lil bigger , thanks bud

Id have to keep it tbh and i had lots of the parts for conversion. Itll cost quite a bit to get pipe, front end, muffler and a few other pieces. But if ya wanna ride it snd keep it worth it def improves the ride. I may do a bw update but the build series is on hold until i can organize it. It is 100% done. Runs great and is a blast !!

Love these videos, I'm not sure why I can let my banshee set for 3-4 months and it always seems to fire right up. I know one day it will not start cause I dont drain the carbs, but I do use Sta bul in all my machines so maybe thats why. Have great day

Man i just bought a 2007 crf450… got a amazing deal on it too cuz the guy said it needed the valves redone an watever but it was obvious he just had been letting it sit for a long time… it has a shit ton of awesome aftermarket parts on it too an the exhaust kit alone cost about what i paid for it… so anyway i caught the vibe he was a guy who really wasnt a engine/maintain kinda guy lol 😂 anyways got her went an bought oil filter, oil, spark plug, air filter, an new chain, an a new oil filter an chamged everything out wich ran me about 100 bucks total on amazon…. Went and got some fresh 93 from the pump, filled her up an literally two kicks 🦵 an bammmm that bitch fired up so quick an beautiful 🤩 so i just came up so fkn hard lol 😂 ppl dnt realize how dam simple it is to take care of a fkn engine… clean oil clean air an a good spark ⚡️ maintain those three things an u will be good… obviously a few other things but those are the three main fkn things an ppl still too lazy lol

I just cleaned my carb on my yz250f and gave it all brand new gas just for it not to start still. It took me 2 days to strip my bike down to the carb and the first time I put it back together I left the float bowl down so it would leak gas when I put it back together. So I had to take it apart again to do it correctly. Dirt bike still won’t start now I won’t be riding this weekend w all my buddies

hey not sure if u will see this but i just recently bought a used 2020 fuel injected YZ250F with 6 hours on it but im pretty sure its been sitting for months with the same gas and when i go to start it up it backfires sometimes and makes the noise like it wants to start just wont turn all the way over do you think simple draining of the gas and replacing it with fresh gas and maybe oil will do the trick?

possibly but it may need a valve adjustment. But try fresh fuel and oil and maybe a little starting fluid for the first try.

The grape is so fragrant that ive never used the other. Itll take a long time to get smell away so a cap full in a 5 gallon can may work for next 3 fillups lol

Either swap injector or make sure there isnt air leak making it seem like a fuel issue

So what if your riding gear down and it dies then wont start, checked fuel its fine all brand new, pulled the carb out cleaned everything, i had it started 3x 3rd time it ra shifted, drove for about 30 seconds then died and now wont start again, its a 05crf450x

Itll empty out with fuel off then done. Dont turn back on till ya go to ride next time and give it a second. If ur trying to flush carb out leave it on
