90s to early 2000s saw a very brave and adventurous Regine. She was very keen on experimenting on different belts to give her own Regine flavor. Martin Nievera said in their World Tour concert in the early 2000s, you would never know what to expect from Regine. She would sing one way in rehearsals and another way in the actual performance. 2010 onwards she was still that way but her experience shows with her story telling - which came with deeper understanding of the song, and a broader arsenal of techniques at her disposal. This is why whenever Regine sings duet with a technically good singer, she would still shine because of her story telling abilities.

My darkest days as a Reginian was 2015-2017. Her voice was unpredictable during that era. She lost her confidence. That network switch made a huuuuuge difference with her singing. She's fantastic as ever.

I dont think her peak was 2002, for me it was around 2000 to 2009. She was waning towards 2009. She did say that, at one point, singing did not give the same joy. She was going through the motions. Then in 2010 she had a miscarriage, before she got married in the same year. 2011 she was pregnant with Nate. These are all big life events and naturally it would do a number on her voice. She did not sing for the entire time she was pregnant and she needed to bounce back. We all know what happened in 2012. However considering the extensive damage of acid reflux, she redeemed herself with just a few months of rest and was able to stage an excellent show In Silver Rewind. After that it was on and off. She rested her voice sometime 2015, which is pretty big for someone who sang live on a weekly show since the 90s (except during her pregnancy). And in 2018, after taking voice lesson and learning new placements and understanding her body better, she entered into her second prime (2018 to present) which she calls her “second wind”. But yeah, despite her colorful history, i really worship the woman due to her longevity - something her contemporaries lost, and the new singers yet to test.

@@_alex_4652 what year were you guys born? As an OG fan, I can guarantee you guys that her PEAK PRIME was 1999-2003. 2004-2006 onwards was when she started shifting her technique with a different vocal placement from time to time. 2006 onwards when she permanently shifted her placement.

@@hotstuff400 i was born on 2004. but i believe that the peak of her voice is in 2002-2003. sobrang iba ng power ng boses nya as in talagang dagundong buong sop non pag naghigh note na. hindi tunog birit ung high notes nya dati more of mukhang normal note lang sakanya. d sya ipit that time. nung 2004 mejo nagbago na voice nya mas more controlled na :)

I appreciate the concept of this voice evolution video. I love Mathias' reaction when Regine was doing her vibratto. I agree that the voice changes are minute from 1984-2011. IMHO, Regine has always been effortless when hitting her high notes. If the uploader watched Ryan Ryan Musikahan, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab had only superlatives for her. I believe she mastered her efffortless belting technique in 1993 (Music & Me concert). After winning in Asia Pacific Music Festival she worked on her low notes. Her prime years were from 1993-2011. After her Silver concert, she lost her confidence plus the acid reflux. She managed to learn a new technique in 2018 onwards.

I like this guy😊 It's interesting that I don't usually finished watching this kind of reviews however, I found myself having no dull moment whilst watching his reaction towards Regine's performances. And yeah, just like his reaction in the end when Regine's songs done, I had the same...OOOPS, that's it?? 🤣🤣🤣

Kahit ano pa mangyari sa voice ni regine wala na syang dapat pang patunayan, wala ng mas makakahigit pa sa kanya sa status nya as the songbird of the Philippines, parang Nora aunor lang yan na magpahangang sa ngayon 2022 wala paring nakakapantay sa naging kasikatan nya Kaya sya lang talaga ang phenomenal superstar, c regine ganun din phenomenal songbird hangang ngayon basta kelangan bigyan din nya ng time ipahinga ang boses nya kahit mag 70 years old pa sya cgurado magaling parin sya kumanta God bless ❤️🌹🙏

Matthias you must definitely see her compilation singing the song "What kind of fool i am" over the years. I think its 25 minutes long here on KZbin. You will see her singing it when she was very young, up to now which is 50 years old. You will notice how her voice changed over the years ❤️

That sounds right up my alley. Regine is one of the few singers where I can watch a 25 minute video and have it feel like 3 mins with the other being the legendary vocalist Hilary Duff.

Take this video with a grain of salt. This is just from a fan. Although he or she made some very good points. IMO, Regine’s vocal peak was between 1989 through around 2010-11. Her voice, technique, and style evolved within those years to keep up with the times, but the power and flare were the same. Her vocal peak could’ve extended longer, but after giving birth, she developed severe acid reflux which damaged her voice and crushed her confidence. After her Silver concert in 2012, she struggled with the changes caused by the damage of her AR. For several years, she had to adjust her singing, and around 2018 she started to regain her voice. Her performances were hit or miss for a little while, but shortly after, she finally found her voice back. It’s never the same of course, but at least she’s more consistent and she got a little of her prime voice back. Nevertheless, she has nothing to prove. She’s a living legend and still the gold standard in the Philippine music industry.

From 2012 to 2017 regine lost her confidence to sing. That affected her so much because even though her voice is powerful, her voice have changed drastically as well. The moment she lost her voice back in 2012 she became very cautious and afraid to sing her usual classic belting songs.

I would have prefer that she would tone down the belting a bit after 2012 and find better options. She has a tendency of shouting the notes to reach it and it seems unhealthy. She's still the best belter ever though.
