Damon even with his humanity off wanted to protect his best friend kids, the moment he realised what Seline’s plan actually is, he was so shocked and kept telling her that child sacrifice is pretty much hardcore. It’s funny but Alaric is killing the one person that actually saved his children. He has no idea that Damon was not involved with Seline’s plan and he’s acting on emotions which is understandable, he’s just a worried parent but it’s very interesting he is blaming vampires but he has no idea that his friendship with a powerful vampire like Damon is what got them saved in a first place and as usual everyone is giving Stefan credit for saving the twins but we viewers know the truth, it was actually Damon who saved them and now he’s been falsely punished after saving his kids. It’s so tragic how misunderstood Damon really is.

What Alaric forgets is , that the twins are in danger , because of who they are...of their very nature. They are SIPHONS. Hence they are wanted. By Seline..To bargain her freedom from Cade. To put all the blame on Damon for their predicament is Alaric not thinking at all. And the way he blamed Damon for everything...and then stabbed him with so much of hatred and vengeance in his heart ????

17:50 I loved that in the final season because my girl bonnie had finally somebody in her life to say that to her and to take a break from all the drama , she's a survivor.😂😂😂😂she died several times and survived miraculously , delena , stelena , and steroline had their cheesy moments in the other seasons that's why it's heavy now because it's the final season and she's taking back her time

I HATE what Matt did this episode. Preyed on a father's fears of his kid's being taken and had him turn that rage on Damon, that didn't have anything to do with them being taken. Sure, he was present, but what was he supposed to do? His humanity is off, and he's still under the siren's control. Matt knew Alaric had rage issues and gave him an easy target. Couldn't stand Matt after this.

@@Heroesfullyalive yeah it kinda does. It's not nice but Alaric was protecting his vulnerable, targeted children from Sybil's henchman (with no control or emotions). Alaric didn't know about the 'deal of a lifetime.' Damon could've told them but he's a glutton for pain (and surprises) Your children > your ex bestie with no choice or self control

Least favorite is the fact that they murdered Alaric’s and Damon’s friendship. Alaric killing his best friend…?? Overall my only severe issue with the last two seasons is the way they butchered their friendship

All I am saying is that she needs to get more control over her vampire status cause in case everyone forgot...she maybe better than before she was turned but her emotions have been magnified so even though she has gotten 1 lucky hit in after another she needs to put more thought into her plans on how to beat opponents who are not only in better control of their own strengths and weaknesses but also outrank her in power and age

Alaric was entirely wrong this episode. He was the one that hired a siren for a nanny and that didn't happen because Caroline is a vampire. The kids were targeted because they are magic

Its criminal , what they did to the Damon-Alaric friendship. To be honest, the Alaric character has long overstayed his welcome. These days ,he has become so petty and narrow minded and downright hateful in his interactions with all. I even hated the way the writers almost totally ignored the Damon and Enzo dynamic. They couldve developed that friendship more. But in the end ,that friendship too was thrown under the bus. Forget a proper friendship, they didn't even have any scenes together. Sad

I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of how they tie everything up this season. It's different, definitely not like the previous seasons (not supposed to be, it's season 8 lol) but I really liked it. Caroline taking the ring off was to make it clear: her children come before Stefan, their engagement and Damon. She really would have killed his brother and she couldn't have Stefan stop her. Do you think Stefan could ever forgive Caroline for killing Damon? Idk if he could tbh, surely he couldn't look at her the same? Stefan did the right thing by protecting them all though

This was a terrible episode if we are honest…there are moments in this season where writing is actually decent but then there are terrible moments with many holes…is Damon actually to blame for getting possessed by a siren after trying to save everyone…and yet Alaric and Matt go to kill him? Alaric who was once his best friend…mind you Damon is literally a slave to mind altering.
