Stewart Ainsworth could have his own show. Walking around parts of the British Isles pointing out all the amazing earthworks people have never even noticed before.

@@harbourdogNL I agree. I really love the extra context he brings to each site. It really helps the history of the landscape come to life.

Of course I have learned a lot about archaeology from watching Time Team, but one of the main sources of enjoyment for me has always been the camaraderie of the Team and its varying members. Such great people. I wanna hug 'em.

One thing that always jumps out at me, is Tony's ability to play as the confused, and potentially frustrated viewer in understanding the archaeology. I'm not sure if this is exactly what he is trying to do when he assumes the role of the frustrated skeptic. However, in my head it really sets the stage for the archaeologists to explain their hypothesis about their work on the site. I cannot say this enough, but this show is simply brilliant.

Tony is far more knowledgeable than he portrays. But without any doubt he is BRILLIANT as a presenter who can make the whole process FUN This along with the incredible scientific knowledge of the Archeologists is the success recipients for this team.

Phil should get himself a clip to attach his hat to his collar so it won't fly off. Perhaps large, neon orange flags at each excavation would help you guys find each other in fog, etc..

What would the residents be doing with the human waste?
@n.m.dooley1951

Most refuse was put into pile, or “middens”, what would now be compost piles, but all trash went in them. Bones, broken pottery things like that.
@michaelstamper5604
@michaelstamper5604 10 ай бұрын
I would suspect that things we would refer to as rubbish or trash would be thrown on a midden (a pit dug in the "back garden" used like a dustbin or rubbish tip. The.....erm......"organic waste" produced by the humans themselves (he said, trying not to be too scatological) probably went into a separate pit dug under an outdoor latrine, or in rural areas might have been spread on the fields to act as a fertiliser.

English superlatives can apply to any number you choose. There are a lot of KZbin videos with top ten lists, or top three - all kinds of numbers, but usually small ones. The top three best-scoring olympic athletes in a sport get medals. The best-scoring athlete gets a gold medal. These are the three hardest digs, but they don't really say which one was hardest of the three. I like that. It feels friendlier, somehow.
