I saw a few USHRA shows in the 80's. At the Pontiac Silverdome, they really put on a spectacular show in about 1983. Allen Gaines was there in the Orange Blossom Special 2wd truck doing an exhibition pull. It was a beautiful truck, something like a '37 Chevy with a supercharged BBC. The original Bigfoot truck was also there doing car crushing, and it was the highlight of the show. They had a couple of school buses that he would climb on top of, then get out and wave to the crowd. When he crushed the buses, every flashbulb in the place went off, and that was spectacular, too.

Just being honest. Your trying to talk someone out of a belief over a youtube video comment section.

@Paul Stuart Wilson What do you mean by Back when truck pulling was real??
@chrisodom924 жыл бұрын
It STILL is real. Lol. Just bigger horsepower and bigger weights. Hence why they increased the distance. Can you imagine today's pullers pulling these trailers in that vid in the short arena??? Today's pullers would jerk these tiny trailer and haul about 50-60mph in that building. THAT is the only thing thats changed. Now we got pullers with 4x4 trucks with 2-3 600+cubic inches engines and tractors with 5-8 engines so massive that one of these engines would shit on two of back then's modified tractor engines.
