Excellent descriptions, very good. The faux wood coating was known as "Pyratone" I believe, I have two sets, a Bobby Jones Jr Spalding Kro-Flite and some Walter Hagen's. Obviously they don't qualify for Hickory golf, but if anyone comes across them cheap buy them, they are a part of golf history and vintage. I never thought of checking my clubs with a magnet to see if they have a rod in them, thanks for that.
