The curiosity on that mechanical got me to me also. I ended up getting the blue dial. I seriously considered the solar as well, but decided to go mechanical. These really are decent watches for the price, with those short hands being a bit of a flaw but they still work. I think the Hamilton and Bulova Hack are probably better overall but for the price the Timex is hard to beat especially since coupons here and there can make it very well priced.
@CivilizedWarrior6 ай бұрын
I’ve been wanting the VWI hack for a while, but since I last looked a few years ago, the price has basically doubled. Are the new cheaper timex quartz movements really that loud? I need a new beater, and I don’t wanna pay $150-$200 for a timex lol. For that much id probably just pony up a little more for the hack. But I would like something luminous without a battery to have to replace all the time. Any other budget suggestions? I’m pretty new to watches.

Its actually better if the hands don't reach the marks on the rim. Luminous hands have a long way to go before they fulfil their promise. In the dark when glow has worn off after a few hours it can sometimes be hard to distinguish between the dial markers and the end of the hand where most glow survives. This can make it hard to decide between the hour and minute hand. The solution you found here makes it easier to distinguish between faded glows in the dark.
