Have one of these but sawed off the fixed lug bars to install springbars... It's lying around somewhere.

After watching your review you gave me a field watch Itch that had to rectified so I went picked one up for 72 usd all together off esty and a 10$ Nato off of amazon .Mine is from 1988. Its running about 59 seconds a day which good for a 30+ year old watch movement that's never had a servicing.I plan getting the movement serviced or doing it my self in the future once I pick up all the tools and I need and print out the Timex service manual . thanks for reviewing this awesome field watch

Hi! I actually got this watch when I was in basic training at Ft Benning, Ga in 1993! I got the camper, and then I got another Timex battery powered watch when I got to the 101st Abn in 1994. I still have them. Both watches still work! They still have the original bands, though they were worn in the jungle and during deployments. I'm trying to upload a pic of them, but I'll make a quick video and post the link here fer ya!

The Macgyver watch. I have the same one. Still runs. it’s a 0 jewel unserviceable movement. Mine is about + 2 mins a day. I don’t believe they expected these watches to last this long.

I bought this same watch at a PX at Fort Leonard Wood, MO in 1990 when I started basic training. It was a tough, dependable watch that survived thru basic, AIT and then onto Desert Storm. Unfortunately, It was stolen from me in the fall of 1993. However, in 2011, I found another one for $35 at a flea market outside of Cleveland, Texas. I still wear it on occasions, and despite it's age and that fact I've never had it serviced, it keeps great time. The only real complaint I have about Timex Camper watches is that they don't have the 'hacking' feature.
