I am in the same position as you and have just resubmitted the form today 😭 I am located in Australia. My tax accountant has said I can try and claim an income tax credit for the foreign tax paid. I would love to know if anyone has been successful with claiming back this withholding tax. I'm not looking forward to potentially having to pay tax on my channel earnings in Australia as well!

4:53 Just a friendly note that the word you were looking for here was actually "retroACTIVELY" since there is an action taken that applies to past events. RetroSPECTIVELY (spect = look/see.. such as 'spectacles' = item to help you see better) simply means to LOOK into the past.

It's such a snake hole, your lucky to be earning so much. A few years ago I had a long and expensive battle to not have GST applied to my earnings at tax time, considering how this site has collapsed in relation to income I don't know why I bothered. The pinch point for me was to get Google to answer 12 queries that the ATO had set out. In my case a very tiny amount of my income is derived in Australia and this required the big G to cough up some data and info. Wow that was akin to getting blood out of a stone. The fee to be GST free in the end was multple thousands of dollar. It reminded me again I'm in the wrong game.

Is tax withholding only on views from the US? When I calculate the US Ch.3 Tax withholding rate on total balance it's around 4.5% , but when I calculate it on the revenue coming from the US it's 30%... Do I have to re-submit the form or is this 30% from US revenue is deducted no matter what? I've submitted the W-8BEN form but underneath it, it says 30% 30% 30%.. and in case it was a mistake, can I claim back the tax that was held or not?

There is one critical issue, nobody is talking about. On search all over the internet I only get the hits where people are lecturing about how to fill out the forms etc. etc. I filled out the correct form alright. No problem there. But there is no submit button!!! Nobody is telling us how to submit the darn thing. Please please please help. I have received tax document from youtube this month March 2023. Hi there, I cant get to this tax form , I keep going around in circles. I get to "provide info", and the create a form link, but the link does not work. I get a note saying I have pop ups blocking stuff, of which I don't. In Windows set up, I have turned Pop ups on, and I have turned Pop ups off, and still no tax form is made available to me. Plus I have no idea what info I have to supply. I have spent 2 days on this tax thing. I'm getting close to closing down my channel and deleting some 400 YT videos, as its just not worth the stress.
