Watching this video i suddenly realized i bought this Prado from DIYIT13 one year ago. It was nice to see the jobs were done correctly. Pete.

How's the car going Pete? I miss it.

@@DIYIT13 It has been solid as a rock, other than needing to change a thrust bearing, things do fail even with good maintenance. Thanks for all the good work you done within your care.

@@pete_adelaide3918 Good to hear, did you have to replace the head? D
@pete_adelaide39184 жыл бұрын
@@DIYIT13 For the time of owning the Prado i have never had a issue with it heating up, other than pushing it very hard in soft sand on the beach in 40C+ temps to which would heat anything up. (full pedal in second gear) To answer the question, No i haven't changed the head and still looking for a reason i need to. I do respect your honesty at point of sale about a possible head problem.

@@champagnebathwater8524 I no longer have that van but it was surprisingly easy. Easiest cam belt I have ever done.

Yeh love it bud. Ours is the last of the 2 person ones made. It’s a 2010 model. I’ll drop a link to a vid I made on it if you haven’t watched it yet. 🍻🤙🏽 Camprite Camper Setup, Walkaround Episode #2 Ironstone Gully Falls. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIGVh2ylhLBpsJo

Good on ya mate. FYI workshop manual says to pull the valve cover and hold the camshaft behind... I like the crankshaft idea far more!

If you’re doing this, do the coolant flush with the old pump, not the new one!!!!

Excellent and a Great video. As you said make sure you have the timing marks in the correct order. Otherwise it could cost you an engine replacement if it decides to throw a rod???

Hey mate! Thanks for the vid! What do you use to clean the face where the water pump housing and where the oil plate goes? Doing mine the same this weekend so might have some more questions ;) cheers!

Possible to do just the water pump replacment without taking out the radiator do you think?
@DIYIT132 жыл бұрын
Heya, yeah it possible, I would put some cardboard on the radiator accidentally heated and damaged the fins. I have always just taken it out so I can give it a good clean . Thanks watching
@zabihrasheedi18462 жыл бұрын
The engine oil is mixing with water in radiator but there is no water in the engine oil what is the cause? Please give the instructions.

Good video bro. Would you recommend a cheaper option on the parts , does it have to be Toyota genuine parts? Would you recommend other names and brands ? Thanks
@DIYIT135 жыл бұрын
Heya I would always try and use genuine Toyota parts as they just last longer and are a better quality .

@DIYIT134 жыл бұрын
Heya , The cam pulley had to come of so you can replace the cam seal. Thanks for watching. D

So timing belt replacement on these is every 150,000 kms not 100,000 like with other cars etc
@mathew59562 жыл бұрын
I would be doing it at every 100ks not every 150ks depending on how hard u drive 150 will prob be too late.
