TIMING BELT REMOVAL 3sge Altezza

Very helpful video, just finished doing my timing belt on my Altezza, this definitely helped out, thank you. One thing I should mention though the timing belt tensioner, if you put a force of about 60nm on a normal 3/8 ratchet that’s not crazy long on to the tensioner and turn it clock wise it will compress the piston in the tensioner so you can put the 3mm pin to cage it. It takes about 2 minutes of steady pressure on that ratchet and it will slowly move.

HEY! did you turn the intake vvti cam gear back to where it was when u opened it and it rotated cause now im in trouble with it🤣 i dont know do i need just put it back like that

No I just left it. From what I understand, the VVT stuff runs separately and can be just ignored as long as the cam gear is in the correct place and lined up with the belt. The VVT stuff will fill with oil and do what it's got to do. I could be wrong but yeah my car runs fine. It's at the tuners now. I'll know in a couple of weeks whether it's actually fine or whether they had to pull it apart or not...

Wait I just reread what you wrote and it says "when you opened it". I didn't open the intake cam gear!!. Under no circumstances are you to open that?.

Yeah I just put it back on the way it came off. As long as the timing marks on the cam gear are in the right spot, it is my understanding that everything will be fine.
