Yeh it was recorded when Kevin was recording Innerspeaker. I was staying with him and the guys taking photos and documenting the whole thing. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with all the photos from that time and from a few tours I've been on with them...Perhaps a book at some point

Wow. Psychedelic Blues. Never thought I'd hear a modern day track that sounds so lush and as if it's straight from the 60's. Genius

Marshall Chess (son of Chess records founder) produced two psychedelic blues albums in the 60's, one by Howlin' Wolf and the other by Muddy Waters if I remember correctly, with fuzz bass and wah wah effects and stuff like that. I think the artists disclaimed the albums afterwards, but I think they're pretty interesting ... could have led to something bigger if someone was inspired to follow up on it.

I cannot put into words how much I love this jam. It's one of my favourite musical pieces that I've ever listened to. It makes me so sad thinking that Kevin only left us two instrumental tracks recorded (this one and Jeremy's Storm) but, man, what songs they are. That's what makes me happy at the same time, thinking that I'm alive to enjoy and feel the music.

in reply to foxcat "30 Mins with Mathew Saville" (Secret bonus track†) - † This track is found by inserting the Innerspeaker CD into a computer CD drive, which takes you to a webpage featuring this track plus Live at the Corner and extra videos. It is an improvised jam session which features musician and photographer Matthew Saville on drums, with Kevin Parker playing guitar and Dominic Simper playing bass.

At some Led Zeppelin concerts, John Bonham would bang on the drums for up to half an hour on their song Moby Dick, and the crowd would go wild. If Tame Impala did a jam like this live, I bet the crowd would have a similar reaction. I am hoping sometime in the future they'll jam like this again.

When you insert the Innerspeaker CD into your computer a thing will pop up that takes you to a webpage where you can download this and some live stuff. I found this out when I was ripping the tracks to put on my Ipod. I've loved this jam for ages and it's great to see this on KZbin! I wish they would release more stuff like this!
@Fluffyducky212 жыл бұрын
No worries, it was a nice surprise when I put it in. Looking at the album again it actually mentions it in very small, barely readable writing at the bottom of the back cover that says: "Insert disc in your computer to unlock an unreleased jam, live recordings, videos & more..." Good incentive to buy the physical album rather than downloading it off iTunes!

There's a cool psychedelic band from Ireland called Waco but their stuff is impossible to find. If you search Waco Red Lemon Woman you'll get their music video. Then there's Pi from Texas. Insanely good band, if you search "psycho-deli Pi" you'll find them. Just two other bands in the movement. Enjoy and big love to all.
