Hilltop ocean view is priceless, great location for any new development. Nice small hotel would be a great business in this area. Private, beautiful and clean, waterfront access would be ideal. Bar with patio & live music. Steaming hot, juicy and tasty pork, beef or chicken and choice of freshly caught seafood from the in house restaurant and chef Tim K. working on the grill. I remember my ex-wife in the Philippines started to work on me shortly after getting married to find a property. We built a home and before you know it she had her entire family move it. With no privacy and space for ourselves we started to argue endlessly and the divorce papers came out shortly after that. I lost everything except for the shirt on my back. I had no choice but to leave the country as well. I hope your dreams work out much better than mine did. Take care.

Just like in the United States there’s no “average cost” for land. Every island is vastly different in price and not to mention the closer you are to a city the higher the price. I paid almost nothing for my land and I got a really nice lot. But I’m also an hour drive from the city.

Tim, you simply exchange the old compressor for a rebuilt one. Expect a discount for your core unit. Have the work done by a competent auto aircon shop in Massin City or Sogod? Swap out the belt and belt tensioner often that's what caused the bearing to fail.

That AC compressor rattle is probably due to bad bearings. Rattle might quiet down if you can loosen tension on the belt a little. West coast U.S. auto salvage yards would be a viable resource for a replacement compressor but you will have to pay the shipping. You will also need special tools and gauges to recharge the compressor with refrigerant

Tim, The land has a great view for sure, but wonder with that slope , how would it be during the rainy season , to get in and out ! You AC really does sound like it’s on it’s last leg ! And also I consider staying higher ground with a view of the sea rather than living just a walking distance from it, consider the Philippines is a pathway for typhoons... Take note of the day you went to that place and a few more years that place will be so developed already and prices will be up soaring to buy a land there.

The nice thing about a hill side for house is inground houses are cooler perfect for those Hot Summer days, just take that excavator cut a notch in the hillside add a slab and some thick walls. A walkout patio deck always an option.
