This literally made me cry. I'm someone who grew up in church and because of strict parents I grew up viewed as that "perfect church girl" if that make sense. However, God only knows how alienating this is. Because in my heart I never wanted to be perceived that way, but I also did not want to disobey my parents or God. So, here is the tension of wanting to live after God's own heart, but feeling alone because you're perceived as "holier than the rest" and not letting that concept get to my head because God hates pride and hypocrisy. Sometimes I just want to scream and be like, No! I'm the same. I have the same sinful struggles as you. We're all the same. Furthermore, when I went to a Bible college when I got older, the tables were switched. I felt like I wasn't holy enough. I wasn't enough of a light. I wasn't good enough. I wasn't good enough of a witness. etc. I began to doubt my own standing with Jesus. I started feeling like I wasn't worthy of Him. It was only through a period of months of break from all of it after being alone with the Father, that I truly began to understand how to do this whole "being a disciple." This is less about what I do or don't do (can or can't) and more about facing God for who He says He is, and letting Him work in and through you at His own pace. "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with thy God." I am not a follower of Jesus because I am perfect or strong, I follow Him because I am weak and willing to admit I need a Savior.

Amen, sister! 🕊️❤️😇 I can image the pressure... Especially because it comes from two places at ones... The unbelievers and "believers" do it both... But i can only imaging because i came from the other side. I have not being growing up in the church. And that won't do much good to us humans as well... 😅 At least it gives more reasons to trust in the words of the bible. For this world is broken, broken by our rebellion. Nothing can save us, well nothing we do nor try. Only Yeshua (Jesus)!!! 🕊️❤️😇 Religion nor pagan... Doesn't save anyone, only trusting in our God changes everything!!! 🕊️❤️😇

A Thought on why Jesus said he was in the midst of two or more gathered in his name. It is not that Jesus isn't with a disciple who is alone. It is that the stakes are higher when two or more disciples are together, because there is relationship and interaction. So Jesus wants to always be in the middle of that kind of interaction.

First, I would like to point out that christians do not judge other christians more harshly than anyone else, that thinking is part of the victim mentality prominent in the church today. Christians in the USA believe that because somewhere at some time christians were a minority and were oppressed that they can share that status (when convenient to them) and assume the position of the oppressed in the USA today. It is a cop out to avoid responsibility. Christians are the dominant culture in the USA and have been from colonization onward. Which means the church needs to take responsibility (which it never has) for the horrors carried out in Christ's (citation needed) name. The genocide of the Native Americans, the slavery of African's, and (yes) shutting the borders to Syrian and South American refugees. Also, in America today, christians judge non-christian women and LGBTQ+ people more harshly by far than they judge other christians. Christians love to play the victim card and claim they are being oppressed when gay people want to have their loyal, loving relationships recognized under the law. Where was that outcry when gay people were being murdered, when transwomen are still being murdered, when gay youth are thrown out into the street. Where was their cry when gay people where arrested, beaten and even gang raped by the police under the authority of laws they not only condoned but pushed for? They were happy to pretend homosexuality did not exist until we rose up and suffered and fought for freedom from the cruelty inflicted on us by them. Maybe God would not recognize a gay union maybe He would. Would He recognize Himself in your treatment of LGBTQ+ people?

Mr. Mackie: kindly read the Book of Revelations and put your teachings and your interpretation of Jesus Christ narrative regarding the kingdom of my Heavenly Father in that context ? the Book of Revelations is the last book of the Bible and the only Book Jesus Christ wrote/dictated to the apostle John ...

I needed to hear it... after all my closet was scattered on the floor the Holy Spirit was there to help comfort me as the love of Jesus will help me sort through it all.

Tim spoke of making moral judgments, choosing between right and wrong. Eating that fruit got Adam and Eve in trouble. Jesus said He Himself did not judge but relied on Father for right judgments. That seeking God's thoughts is essential.

Can we just stand still at the fact of the speck tho, how annoying and painful it is to have a speck in your eye? A speck is so hurtful, your eye gets totally red and watery and you WANT somebody to get it out ASAP. I wear contacts and when a contact lens is damaged, I want to immediately take it out and toss it away. My whole body relaxes to focus on the pain in my eye as I need to be careful. A beam in my eye, doesn’t even fit in my eye, I’m just blocked of my view, I’m blinded. I’m not hurt, but i’m totally blindsighted. So the other person is actually in great pain, the one with the speck in their eye, and I with the beam, am not.

There are more than 200 Christian denominations in the U.S. alone and a staggering 45,000 globally, according to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity. This says it all. For comparison; there are only TWO Islam denominations in the world: Sunni and Shia. We Christians have our work cut out for us.

So,so true. I have to take myself before the Lord from time-to-time and ask Him to show me myself as He knows me to be. After a month of seeing my failures I am disgusted with me, then I ask Him to change me into what I should be. I have found through the years, that though I improve, and when take myself before Him again, there are still many failings , and I must again take the witness box against myself.
