Written by Jerry Laseter and Kerry Kurt Phillips, and performed by American country music artist Tim McGraw, "Maybe We Should Just Sleep on It" was released to country radio stations on October 7, 1996 as the fifth and final single from McGraw's 3rd studio album 1995's All I Want. The song peaked at #4 on the Billboard country charts, and reaching #1 on the RPM country charts in Canada. Sherman Halsey directed and produced the song's music video, which premiered on CMT on October 11, 1996 during The CMT Delivery Room. The video features McGraw performing in an empty room.👍

Didn't this song come out in 1997 ? I could be off by a year (either way). Regardless, the late 1990's were McGraw's "heyday". I never was (and still am not) the biggest fan of country music. However, I used to hear this song frequently because of where I was working @ the time. After listening to it...day after day...for about a year...I began to take a strong liking to it. To this day, it still brings back fond memories for me. I was in my mid twenties and liked the job I was doing (and especially the people I was doing it with). Our hours were 1-9 or 2-10 (PM). So just about every night after work we would go out and hit the bars together. I was having fun and had my whole life ahead of me....it was great ! It's hard for me wrap my mind around the fact that all of what I just mentioned (including the release of the song) took place over twenty years ago. I miss being 26 years old like a former best friend ! Where does the time go ?
