IKR. She made it her own. Even the small changes, like adding an extra round when she "lit the cigarette" at the beginning, and when they stretch their hand to the back but she placed a hand on her chest, she looked so like a masterpiece that wanted to be drawn.

Stevie Dore ate and left no crumbs. I just keep going back to 2:50 over and over again and it gives me goosebumps. She really nailed it with the intense squat up and down movement and her arms. She was PURE ART out off all the talented dancers of because how she ended it with the mouth cover and release. It was subtle but she was the best because of her ending. She had to something to say and we were gonna sit down and listen. She doesn’t even need to raise her voice a decible. Captivating.

I come back to this video so often. First, the song by Bishop is just amazing, and really provides a powerful base to choreo from. Second, Galen's choreography is incredible! Especially in heels. Powerful, sensual, beautiful. Third, watching Galen start and Stevie close was just an absolute joy. Galen dances with power and passion and anger, she is a volcano erupting. Stevie blinks from calm, controlled stillness into flashes of brilliant movement; movement without an ounce of energy used beyond what was absolutely necessary. She is a leopard, stalking and on the prowl until in a moment she has sprung upon her prey. Even their outfits fit their contrast - Galen has a simple white tank top, exposing her chest and powerful arms, with her hair tied back. Stevie has a long sleeve shirt only buttoned at the top with her navel showing, and hair down loose. When Galen moves you see her and all of her power in everything she does; when Stevie moves you see a whirl of her hair and a flash of her skin and before you finish processing what happened she's back standing as if nothing ever happened. Simply amazing.

The third and final performance with the girl dancing by herself was amazing. I’ve watched the video of her doing this dance hundreds of times and every time I watch it she stills continues to amaze me. She’s such an amazing dancer and whoever she is I hope she knows how beautiful of a dancer she is. I dance full time after school and one day I hope to be half as good as she is. (I’m not saying the others weren’t amazing dancers because they were, but that girl seems to just go with the flow of the music.)

I had the pleasure of taking 1 of Galen's workshop 3 years back at Houston and Galen's one of the best instructor out there. She knew exactly what i needed to work on through just observation alone and pointed me to work out my weakness. She's also such a big motivator whenever we manage to overcome our own self doubt.
