By your time frames, I just realized we are the same age. I started collecting at the end of revised. My first full set, I put together was Alliances.

Me too, I was lucky that we had a local shop that still sold revised boosters till late 1996.

wow Tim, congrats for this SUPERB video...the perfect video. Brings together the set cards, synergies, flavor text, AND THE INNER-MESHING OF THOSE STORYLINES VS CARDS ABILITIES. Magnificent mix of information you brew ! When I came back into MTG world 20 yrs after my teenage, I was fascinated about the ITALIC STORIES. I discovered what I ognored in my young age, the link from elder dragons, old disappeared Thran empire, the big villain Yawgmoth that is a pending menace, the 2 brothers, the archeologist clans of Soldev, New Argive, Tocasia, Drafna & Hurkyl ... Soo cool to have this Archeology theme in the stories....so rich Also, these is a cool sub story line about Drafna & Hurkyl from the destroyed Lat-Nam school that has reborn later after brother's war as the School of the Unseen as a protective a/g other cataclysm. (like a Poudlar's hidden wizard academy).

Thanks Lucas and you're right, the Hurkyl and Drafna story is very interesting. There is just so much lore going on...

Love the collecting part of it. I'm slowly buying singles at events when I see a 93/94 card that I don't have yet (and doesn't has the asking price of a car) 😂

Traded two workshops for an archeologist to complete my set, at the time it wasn't a terrible trade.

Nice collection. I remember back in the day (95ish) not being a fan of antiquities. Packs were expensive, only 8 cards, and at the time I didnt find most of the cards very powerful.

Ohhhh man I think we are both close to age....in middle school when a black lotus was a couple hundred bucks that was too much 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I wish I sold everything to buy one haha I love collection videos And on my wish list: candelabra, mishra’s workshops, transmute artifact

Where to start about this set, the factories are super, tron one of my favorite playstiles especially with the colossus and rocket launcher. My current mono white build contains a rocket launcher in the sideboard great against black knights weenie and even killed a dragon whelp with it. Also the archeologist is nice in combination with the rocket launcher(chaos orb ofcourse nice) Strip mine a must play in OS triskelions all over the place. Suchi with the current rules a great drop as there is no manaburn left. Clay statue unexpected card but great against disco decks, factories etc I think this is one of the best sets made with cards that are reprinted till today.

Insanely powerful for such a small expansion.

I had a million grapeshot catapults and ornithopter. My buddy pulled a colossas and I was trying to get it off him I never did. God I probably pulled some good stuff but just didn't know what I had and years later my collection was stolen. Only a few years ago starting buying cards again.

Stolen, that's tough. How can you steal somebody's mtg collection, lowest of the low.

I freaking love Antiquities! My favorite OS creature is Triskelion. Nice collection, I have play-sets of most of the set, but my cards are in a more heavily played condition than yours. Sad story, years ago I traded my Mishra's Workshop for an Italian Moat. At that time it was a fair trade value wise. I wasn't playing with the Workshop and I seriously wanted a Moat. I now have three Moats and play them continuously, so on one hand I don't regret the trade, but when I think of how the cards appreciated in price I got hosed. Can't really complain beings as I did it to myself, LOL.

As much as I am not the biggest fan of the set, this is from the four horseman the set with the best lore by far imo (AN being real world inspired and Legends DnD)
@TimmytheSorcerer4 жыл бұрын
That's probably why it is my favourite set. Although, all 4 sets are magnificent for their own reasons. I remember thinking that Legends was a set with no end back in the day. I just kept seeing new cards with the weirdest abilities and art work :D
