@kattrinkabarrettdelongcham66424 жыл бұрын
@@lukeb6341 Whichever way you look at it, releasing captive-raised/human habituated big cats into the wild is irresponsible and unsuccessful.. To learn how to survive, wild cubs undergo an 18 to 24 month apprenticeship under their mother’s tutelage. Even so, about half don’t make it to adulthood, succumbing to hunger, disease, natural calamities or aggression from other big cats. The challenges are even greater for cubs raised by human surrogate parents. A captive big cat that is released into an area inhabited by its wild cousins stands a high chance of getting into a territorial fight with a member of its own species. Such fights can result in severe injuries, or even death, to one or both contestants, negating any perceived benefits of the rehabilitation exercise. And unlike wild big cats, who give humans a wide berth and rarely pose any threat, hand-raised predators are extremely dangerous to humans because they not only have no fear of people, but in fact associate them with food. A hungry, ‘rehabilitated’ big cat will not hesitate to approach a human settlement in search of food, and kill livestock or even people, inviting retribution. Such retaliation, which usually takes the form of poisoning kills, may result in the deaths of many big cats in the area, including those that have never harmed any humans. Thus, rather than doing any good, releasing captive bred and born zoo and "sanctuary" big cats into the wild actually does a lot of harm to the species and it's numbers by increasing conflict and worsening community hostility towards the animals in general. Zoo breeding programs do very very little good and a lot of harm in practice.

Farmers kill them because they are worried about the safety of themselves and those they love. They are worried about them killing their livestock, the farmers' livelihood. It's not just about greed and violence.
@africanviolet78175 жыл бұрын
@@calicoc1335 as land that was once the terrain and territory of lions and other wild animals is urbanised as well as utilised for farming, lions and other wild creatures have less and less habitat. The human species is growing so fast that the space between us and wild animals is inevitably becoming smaller and smaller. It's really sad but part of their decline was always inevitable

There must be other methods to protect livestock rather than just pulling a trigger, which is where education and conservation needs to intersect. I grew up on a farm. The goose and roosters and turkeys are extremely aggressive jumping on your head to attack you viciously. Same goes with hens that lie their eggs. We kept our hen inside the house. I had to tiptoe cause she was very sensitive to noise and any step I made was like walking around a bomb mine. Far more dangerous than a lion.

You have a good day Hello, I would like to share the following message with you. And please do not ignore the following message is from Jesus to you because he loves you very much Adam and Eve sinned in the beginning, and the result was the total loss of a perfect human life, which is why human beings fail and make mistakes. Then How can we spend eternity in heaven? How can a person be saved? If we are imperfect, we would not deserve it.... It took another perfect human life to pay the price So it was....!!!! A long time ago approximately 2021 years ago a boy named Jesus was born who was and is the son of God Jesus was born on this earth with a special purpose that was to give his perfect life to pay for our sins he grew up was a carpenter preached the word of his father and fulfilled his purpose when at 33 years old he sacrificed himself to pay for our sins and thus give us life he died to pay for the sins of you, me and the whole world so that through his death we have forgiveness of sins and eternal life With him forever because after paying for your sins and dying on the cross he rose from the dead with power and glory and he now lives and right now he knocks on the door of your heart and if you open it you will have eternal life and he will live Always in your heart What are you waiting for? Make the decision to accept Jesus Christ in your heart and be happy praying “Heavenly Father, I know that I have sinned against you and that my sins are separate from you but I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again and among the dead, he is alive and hears my prayer so I ask your forgiveness for my sins I accept you Lord Jesus as my Savior and Lord of my life please write my name in the book of life and may it never be erased thank you Christ Amen If you prayed that prayer with all your heart trust that you are saved from eternal damnation in hell and that now you have eternal life and all your sins are blotted out and everything is new through Jesus What should you do now? read the bible daily Attend a Christian church where the word of is preached and be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

Nothing wrong with exsisting in relative safety and not requiring dangerous activities to feel alive and relevent. I admire his caring and dedication to these beasts and so on but he's really taking a lot of risks.
@petrichor16554 жыл бұрын
@@owenmclain3327 Some risks are worth taking, even if it's your life that's on the line. People take risks all day every day, some they don't even realize they're taking it. You live in a house? There's a risk of it being destroyed in an earthquake, resulting in your death. The new bookshelves you just bought? There's a risk of it falling down on you and killing you. Albeit pretty low, there's still a chance. Every time you use a knife to cook something, there is a chance of you chopping your finger off. Every time you drive a car, there is a risk of you being involved in a fatal accident. Even when you get into a relationship, you risk your heart being broken. Now when you look at the alternative, you see that these risks are worth taking them. But these are just small examples, we constantly take thousands of risks every single day. Avoid every risk (even though it's technically near impossible) and you'd be just existing, and that really is no life worth living. But how much risk you want to take, you think are worth taking, depends on you. After all it's your life and you are the one who gets to choose what to do with it. Though personally I do believe there is some truth in the saying "Fortune favors the bold".
