ITTF, It'd be interesting if people started contacting the sponsors of the tournaments promoted with this video quality, such as Ottostadt Magdeburg and LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt, and let them know that this is damaging to their brand's reputation, not just ITTF's. The clear public outrage and embarrassment of this ongoing problem may be costing the tournament sponsors money and hurting their public image. I would think that if the marketing directors of the companies sponsoring these events become aware of this type of nearly unwatchable, unprofessional video quality as well as the reaction to it by the public, and how it reflects on the professionalism of their brands, they wouldn't be pleased. Perhaps the ITTF should consider this since the wishes of the Table Tennis community are irrelevant.

They do put the high res on tv, but i think its about the upload time consistency on youtube so people like us can catch up with the tournament cause it needs some editing or something else idk. If the problem is about the angle of the video i am totally agree, this is outrageous. Fix this ITTF!!!

But you can see the quality is still much better than this one and the smoothness (60 frame per sec) is close to or better than the TV quality. Remember this is a just a civilian camera. Not to mention about the angle, which I (or some audience) have mentioned couple of times.

Timo Boll is a legend in the game. I'm awestruck that he still competes at this level. He loves the game so much that he must compete whether he wins or loses. He loves to play! You can see the respect that both players have for each other. FZD is on another level, like his Chinese counterparts XX and ML.

You're right. Concentration and focus (especially on the next point) decides the winner on the same skill level. Often games are so fast with intense pressure, it's not easy to keep. We often see some good players lose their cool on the court. But it's like talking to the brick wall with newbies, haha! Hello from Sydney Australia.

btw if you are an umpire. look at the difference of length on the throw of the ball, when both of them serve. i remember from before christmas where xu xin was called out for throwing the ball exactly like that. the ball travels way too much horizontally, compared to the height it is thrown.

You all don't know the intention of ITTF. They absolutely CAN upload much higher quality. But instead of that, they increase the size of the ball so that people can see more clearly. And their goal is to increase the ball as big as player's head. That is the real reason they keep the quality low. They are much smarter than us.

Yes possibly but if you’ve been playing with the same blade for so long at that level, the blade change would be more detrimental than helpful.

FZDs blade is a viscaria with Stiga handle and Timo Bolls blade is ALC. Not much difference, nearly none.

@@nulldemokratiezwei7773 not much difference. but it still wouldn't make sense to switch. personally i use timo's alc with 05 and 64 and i have been for years. whenever i use a different blade with 05 and 64, i can still hit decently well but the quality drops. so personally i wouldnt recommend timo to switch blades only to get a chance of a lightning backhand.
