What a phantastic match. Great comeback by Timo, very hard to do. And Yoshimura createds a lot of pressure. He forced Boll to try switch his hand again and again. Boll can do that. But it takes a very strong player to force Boll to do it multiple times.

That was one of the best matches I have seen in a long time. I almost didn’t watch it because I thought, ‘Boll vs Yoshimura - nah; Boll always wins against him so it’s going to be boring’ - but flippin’ heck, Yoshimura was on fire!! I seriously thought Boll was going to lose, and when he came back and won it was a hard-fought and exciting ‘come-from-behind’ victory. Man... Even though Yoshimura lost, it could have gone either way - so the next time those two guys face off I think it will be even better, because Yoshimura’s confidence has got to be rising after that match...!
@michaeldoe48055 жыл бұрын
Such a quality game but not fully appreciated because of this overhead straight angle. I understand sponsor ads need to be visible but why not think outside the box and design the advertisement placements for the lower and diagonal angle. A new world opens up when you watch table tennis at a slight diagonal angle and a lower camera placement. Table tennis is unique and it requires different thinking process

Ai ya ya Yoshimura you started off so well, consistent and aggressive. But then 3-1 up, you got a bit impatient and started to miss unnecessarily. Need to play the same way the whole way through and be patient. You had the win.

Wow! I have never seen Timo Boll playing that fast.... even faster than he was in the age of 22

Beautiful! Timo won with a little more defensive style here cause he couldn’t keep up with the speed of the other player.
@nealtran68445 жыл бұрын
you could be right. However, Timo Boll's style is the best strategy today in the era of 40plus ball. Placement of the ball is more important than speed/power of the ball. With bigger ball, long rally are possible, all-rounders like Timo Boll may have the edge over attackers like Yoshimura.

good games. Yoshimura lost by typical scenario in balaced games. In the last 2 games, Yoshimura began to beat without enough precious cares, so he just gave gift points to Timo Boll by his lots of unforced errors

@sambrown51725 жыл бұрын
If he were born in China, most likely he would be forced to finish his career after 30, by rising "wave" of younger talent players, as happened with WangLichin, MaLin, Wang Hao, ZJK.
How can you tell a Japanese-born Japanese player apart from a Chinese-born Japanese player? They keep silent.
@nealtran68445 жыл бұрын
Both Harimoto and Yoshimura are born in Japan. Harimoto's parent from China, and Maharu Yoshimura to a Japanese father and a Filipina mother. His first name is a Japanese translation of the Tagalog word "Mahal", meaning "beloved". you keep silent instead.
