Thank you very much for your video! It's always a pleasure to learn about tabletennis by such an elite player like you. As reply to your question in your pinned comment i'd say my favorite tip in general is try getting fit by cycling, jumping jacks, running and shoulder & lower back workouts and warm up before TT training to avoid any injury. In this particular video my favorite tip is come back close to the table as well as play in middle first to be safe. Be good, stay safe! Thanks again for your precious time! See you soon, hopefully🏓🏓

It might make switching from forehand to backhand easier, it helps me to do a better backhand flip. See also kzbin.info/www/bejne/bauVeGVnjK18qLs
@lgeiger3 жыл бұрын
The problem is that I sometimes want to hit backhands like Kreanga and forehands like Ma Long AND be as safe as you at the same time 😂 That's why I often play against two opponents (my opponent and myself) in a lot of matches. Every single one of these quick tips is very useful. No. 1 (Keep the racket above the table) is the one I constantly need to remind myself of. And No. 5 (Play safer) sounds so easy, but there's a little devil on my shoulder that sometimes tells me to go all in for no reason 😂

Timo says to keep your racket above the table, but don't you have to lower your racket a bit during the forehand topspin backswing?

Do you change your grip when swithing from backhand to forehand. Is it ok to do so. I would love a video on backhand and forehand grips next time
@milsiknuff3 жыл бұрын
Is this a question? Because I never saw a video, were it becomes so obvious. In minute 3:53 you can see it very clearly. For me it is so fundamental to do it, you can never play a good quality ball without changing the grip. As a beginner nobody told me, then I had to train myself to do it by shadow training. In fact you have three positions: forehand, neutral and backhand. Just go through them and change the grip...takes some time. Hope Timo can do a video about it! Just try it out!
@davideareias78763 жыл бұрын
@@milsiknuff actually you should train to have only one grip so you don’t lose time switching, when I reached certain level I had to train backend again because I wasn’t used to the same grip. I stopped switching because it was harder to control the ball because of lower time because of switching.

Hello Timo, I'm really interested in your serve recovery because I really like to serve sideways to the table as you and many others do since it opens up almost the whole table for placement and makes it really easy to serve with side spin. But when serving sideways I'm always in a extreme hurry to recover fast enough to get into the ready position and anticipate the ball of my opponent. I've noticed that you are really calm when recovering and seem to have much more time for anticipation of the opponents return. Are there any tips you can give about serving sideways in regards to a faster recovery time? Thanks a lot beforehand🤗

Hi Timo! Good luck on you injury. Normally I wouldn't care much about equipments but since the ALC has been your trademark for years. Players around the world are inspired by you and the racket also. I think it would be a great topic to talk about your decision to change, of course unless there are some tactical sides that need to keep private. Thank you. You're an absolute legend!

Timo sir Kindly advise In a friendly t.t match, ball hit edge/rim of my racket and i was made to loose point. Kindly advise if in table tennis match table tennis ball hits blade/rim/ frame of t.t racket (any wooden part of racket not covered by rubbers) whether ball will be still in play or i will I loose point... Kindly give ITTF rule to clarify above matter. Thanks & regards
