Nice detailed reviewed. I prefer the WWW, but would prefer it with manual, but since the case thickness is the same as the automatic, it wouldn't make it any more slender....

Congrats on first ever review on ATP version. Definitely getting it as I have WWW version and nice to have in both. Have vintage Timor DD too and yes love it. Only last week, I was wondering why not Timor making other kind of watch after seeing my black one quality is superb. I saw pic of WWW. version and vintage ATP next each other and thought that should have made ATP too at some point lol. Surprised to see they actually made it.👍

There's actually no AR coating on the dirty dozen reissue. I've confirmed this with Timor's owner.

I find it curious so many find this watch too expensive for what it is. Considering it is only one of two remaining brands (the other being Vertex) that originally made the Dirty Dozen watches and still make a modern version of it today, I think it's fairly priced at under $1k. One often pays a premium on the intangibles such as original brand heritage/history/story. Also considering the only other true Dirty Dozen brand, Vertex, charges at least $1500 more for theirs, this ain't that bad. Granted, the Vertex is more a true modern update in size, specs and features and this is staying much closer to the original WW2 version.. I'm not sure if I could stomach paying $2600 or so on the Vertex?...maybe .. It's been a constant back and forth debate in my head. The Timor is an easier price and more true to the vintage model. The Vertex does have better specs and actually looks better with the more detailed dial, especially with the 3D lumed numerals. Sure, there are many microbrands that attempt to make Dirty Dozen style watches for a lot less. If it's just the look one is seeking and on a much tighter budget, those will work. For the enthusiasts that prefers true heritage as a big bonus and worth paying the premium, such as myself, I'd opt for one of the few (just the 2?) original brands to make the Dirty Dozen just for that added authenticity. Talking about modern new stock versions. I'm not in market to mess with true vintage D12 models. Additionally, the use of the military broad arrow on the dial seems they have the right to use it and not as disingenuous as those micros that use it with absolutely no ties to military history and usage.

I am glad for your comment! I am considering purchasing the WWW version of this watch and saw another review on modern reissue of vintage military watches and the host mentioned that today's Timor offering the WWW and ATP is a startup from a Kickstarter campaign and he is not sure if they are linked to original Timor of the dirty dozen. If that is the case then the price point on this seems to be too steep and also the use of the original Timor brand name and the broad arrow on the dial seems unethical. Can you please help clear my doubt if you know anything about it ? You seem to be a well researched individual on this topic and your comment reflects that.

Great review. I was hoping to order a Field WWW (black dial) with the manual wind SW216, but the website doesn’t show that being an option…does anyone know about this?
@watchreviews4k Жыл бұрын
Only the Field ATP is available with the SW216. Regards, #WR4K

It says 'sold out' when the hand-winding movement option is selected for the WWW. I assume this is just a temporary situation, because I own the hand-winding variant of the WWW with the SW216 movement and can confirm it does exist. If you definitely want the WWW rather than the ATP, perhaps wait a little to see if the hand-winding version comes back in stock; alternatively, I guess you could email Timor directly and ask them when that variant will become available.

Looking at the website, looks like both options are back in stock

ATP watches are not WW1 watches (you said yourself they came out in 1938). I love the ATP version of this Timor but can’t understand the price difference with the WWW. Also I wished the manual wound version could be thinner.

Apologies for the error. I appreciate the correction. I meant to say WW2 watches. I record all my videos in one take leaving mistakes in. Unlike many other watch channels I do not edit out mistakes to appear flawless. Therefore there are a plethora of verbal, and visual mistakes in my 243 videos. Regards, #WR4K

You may appreciate the 36mm A12 from VAER, or a product from CWC (Cabot Watch Company), or from Smiths (Timefactors).

you should check out a few other brands as well if u care about the highest quality for the best price, like hamilton field khaki, (automatic or mechanical), smiths prs29a, the boldr venture, if u want a titanium watch with 200m water resistance, and also the swc bunker, overall the swc bunker and boldr venture are the best everyday field watches out there (for the price)

Thanks for the review. I was thinking it would be a good subject for you to present a compilation video of your Champagne Watches for Lemonade Money. A trusted reviewer providing such tips would be invaluable.
Timefactors cost half with double water resistance.

Thank you for watching. I assume you are referring to the Smiths Military PRS-29A which is due for release in July at £405? Timor was one of the original Dirty Dozen watches, and is Swiss made. Therefore one is paying for that brand heritage, and it being Swiss made; rather than made in China. Smiths went bust, and has since been relaunched by Timefactors. Their watches are not Swiss made, nor was Smiths one of the original Dirty Dozen. With regards to the water resistance; this is a field watch, not a dive watch. 50 metres water resistance is perfectly adequate for a field watch. No one is going to take a field watch diving to anything like 50 metres in reality. Regards, #WR4K
@Beck-Stein2 жыл бұрын
@@watchreviews4k i stand corrected. I know some of their watches state germany and most stamped Great Britain. I thought it was swiss. They are made in hong kong from my research. That being said, yes 50m for field watch is fine but come on. Modern watches should be 100m. That shows loose case specs to not be resistant to 100m at least.
@watchreviews4k2 жыл бұрын
@@Beck-Stein As the name suggests a "field" watch is used in a field, rather than a "dive" watch which is used in the sea. Therefore 50 metres (164 feet) is perfectly adequate for a watch that isn't going to be used for diving. "That shows loose case specs to not be resistant to 100m at least." No, it doesn't show loose case specs. The case has to withstand 50 metres of pressure. 100 metres water resistance for a dive watch is poor specification. 200 metres is the standard. 50 metres water resistance for a field watch is normal specification. 100 metres, or 200 metres, are uneccessary. Regards, #WR4K

@@watchreviews4k yes I understand it’s a field watch. But these are modern interpretations of the original. Why add a sapphire crystal for that matter? Improvements should be across the board for $1k. No way this watch is 2x better than Smiths.
@misterbianco62022 жыл бұрын
@@Beck-Stein I agree with you! The Smiths PRS29 to me is not only the prettier watch but also the better value. Smiths and Timor by the way have a pretty similar military heritage and are both not made by the original companies anymore, so not a difference here. Furthermore both have Swiss movements, that's what counts to me. Not to mention that the current production of Smiths watches for many seem to be better quality than the ones made in Germany or Switzerland. And 100m WR gives a nice reassurance, in a field, near lakes and anywhere else. Anyway, incredible watches for the money from a hearty owner that are always sold out. I don't think Timor is there yet.
