As phenomenal as he is, I don’t think people understand his success is one in a million. Like think of the thousands of struggling actors trying to get the same level of appreciation and mega stardom he has? He’s been bred for this his whole life. As a child actor, attending the fame school La Guardia high school of performing arts, etc. Having access to such amazing actors and watching them in person, his mature approach to the craft, etc. No actor that comes from a place without connections (j.e. An outsider) can ever get that level of success. Doesn’t mean you can’t be a successful actor and dedicated like Timothee is, but the amount of ignorant people is surprising in other comment sections
@zoeeb3 жыл бұрын
but doesn’t he have connections? if u have connections then that’s like one of the main reasons on how u make it as an actor
@neilrussell67143 жыл бұрын
@@zoeeb yeah I get that but I mean connections in the sense that his family was basically in show business to begin with and they knew people at the top. By his teenage years he was acting alongside Christian bale and Matthew McConaughey, and his talent agency is the same one representing huge A listers. He got Call Me By Your Name because his agent was friends with the producer of Call Me By Your Name. No young actor has gotten that much fame and PR. What I mean is Timothee had friends in very high places and not a regular actor who just made it with just talent, although he is very talented. Other actors don’t have that, which makes them “outsiders” because they start from scratch like thousands of struggling actors. Then they make their own “connections” over time that help them land smaller roles which then lead to bigger roles. They don’t get huge cameos with A list stars and access to a massive Indie project like Timothee did
@zoeeb3 жыл бұрын
@@neilrussell6714 ohhh ok yes i understand what you’re saying. i agree. sorry i’m a bit slow at times
@neilrussell67143 жыл бұрын
@@zoeeb haha no worries at all! I’m not a Timothee hater btw lol. I just feel like people in acting magically think they can get to where he is but the unfortunate reality is that if you don’t look like Timmy or have the backing by studios and the agents he does, you’re just going to get scraps or will have to play an extra on shows where no one really remembers your name. That is, unless things work out for a person lol

I really like that u replay to most of the comments and do most of our request for your videos, thank u❤️❤️. I have a question, i hope u can reply cause i don’t know who else to ask. i’m gonna be auditioning for katara in the netflix series, but i was thinking in the headshots, i’m planning to do one completely normal and the other one dressed as her character with her costume and hair, do you think this is a good idea? just so i can give the directors an idea on how i would look like as her, of course i know that i can’t go to the audition dressed as her with the costume and all of that. Also how many headshots do you recommend to have?
@TheActorsAcademy4 жыл бұрын
What’s hard about sending in photos dressed completely as the character, is how it will be perceived by casting and how well done the costume actually is. I haven’t heard anything new on the Last Airbender project, but casting may have their own idea of how they want Katara to look and they will have tons of money invested in the costuming and creation of the character. Now if they specifically state that you can send in a photo dressed in costume, you could consider it, but otherwise it’d be a far safer bet to send in your regular headshot/resume with your submission clip. In terms of how many headshots you should have, I assume you mean in general? You should consider having a few different looks depending on the roles you are trying to be submitted for. Hope this helps 👍🏼

Hey I'm 15 and I live in India. Now I know that u talk about exploring ur own country's industry but ik that I'm not cut out for Bollywood. Despite living in India my life I am always watching Hollywood...and I plan to move to US or Canada for pursuing college in space sciences alongside acting as a side passion. I can do brit, Australian American accent with relative ease .Do u think that I am right to aim for that Hollywood bar. I do daily practice of 2-3 monologues that I think are pretty good for me. Try to watch all best classics and pieces of Hollywood theatre alongside my dailies of latest Hollywood theatre.

It sounds like you’re on a good track. Ultimately the decision will have to be yours and you’ll also need to consider the financial aspects to it, but if you’re willing to put in the time and work and you have a solid plan worked out for yourself (if things go right and/or if things go wrong) you’ll be in a better place than someone with no plan at all 👍🏼

i need some advice. i'm just starting out with my acting career (turning 14 in september) and am not sure what to do once i'm out of highschool. i've already started acting classes but i don't know if once i graduate if i should follow my dream of being an actress or become a doctor since i have the brains for it. i don't want to be an actress living in hollywood not booking anything or anywhere while i could be a successful doctor but i don't want to be a successful doctor when i could be a successful actress. what do you recommend?
@hollywoodacting2824 жыл бұрын
Chase your dreams. Anything is possible once you truly believe it can be done and don’t doubt. You only live once so make it the best life possible.
@RealSamuelGibson4 жыл бұрын
Go do whatever you want because if you get tired of being a doctor you can become an actor and if you get tired of being an actor or it doesnt work out you can always fall back on a doctor career :) I am the same as you except I wouldn't have a job like a doctor to fall back on if acting doesnt work out🤣

I am 14 and am trying to become an actor I have completed several leads in musicals. Should I keep doing musicals or start to just try and audition for acting?
@TheActorsAcademy4 жыл бұрын
If the auditions are easily accessible to you, you can always try auditioning for other projects, but I’d suggest you also continue training and developing in the area you want to pursue (theatre or TV/Movies or musical theatre). If you had to move somewhere with your family to audition, than there would be far many more things to consider. Hope that helps 👍🏼

I know it's weird if i say this but i send them i mean including my selftape to the director's e-mail? Because i dont know where i can send it if i audition online. Hope you answer!
@TheActorsAcademy4 жыл бұрын
If your self submitting, this is usually done through the service you created your account with. For example when you create your account you will need to upload your headshot(s) and fill out your resume. When submitting for an audition, normally the platform will let you choose which headshot you’d specifically like to send in for which audition and your resume is already on your profile

No problem. You can use Actors Access, Casting Frontier, and/or Backstage. Actors Access tends to be the more popular one, but you can check out Backstages listings for free (submitting for the project of course means signing up), but they tend to have free trials. If your interested in backstage I recently did a video on them kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJKafnyshttspKc
