As he often says in interviews, he feels what the characters feel, he chooses roles for, roles that speak to him. He says it's cliché but when you get there you transcend yourself to live your character. I think he does it so well, that you live your emotions with his characters, it's very powerful, and magnificent. He very often brings tears to my eyes, where American actors often fail because they are too formatted. He has this je ne sais quoi of difference that will make him a huge great actor of our generation, I am almost the same age as him and I think I will see him throughout my life in films that I will remember, in anyway I wish him. Beware of the Hollywood machine.

Beautiful Boy is probably the most personally painful movie I’ve ever watched. I could never watch it again, but his acting was so incredible in that. His performance in The King was extraordinary as well. Seems like he has been lucky to get (or chooses) roles in films that actually tell important and affecting stories. Looking forward to whatever the next thing is from him (besides Dune which is going to wreck people, so that fits in perfectly lol). I’d love to catch him in a play sometime. I have a friend who is desperately looking forward to seeing him in 4000 Miles this summer. Can’t wait to hear all about it!

As Hal he left me speechless - gave unexpected tones of acting there! Almost every time I see him on screen I feel like watching a real life person not a character played by an actor :) But right, "CMbYN" - it should have been an Oscar right there back in 2017/18.

@@soumil5794 This film is amazing. I love the book with its complicated, deep psychology and politics and I wasn't sure if IT could be translated into the cinema language. Villeneuve proved it's possibile. The film has got overwhelming, beautiful wide shots and music that goes with them so naturally. Actors were amazing, too. Especially Chalamet (his face reflected whole pages of inward monologues from Herbert's novel) and Ferguson as well.
