wait i figured it out. some mugen characters have folders with folders inside them. you have to take the second folder out of the first and make sure the def file is the same name as the folder. Hope this Helps ; )

For those who it still doesn't work for, I think I know why: So, if you have the def file matching the folder that's good. But what you might not have done is this: Character folder name, stages/character folder name.def I did that and it worked

1. Or the charactsr name is not The same as the DEF folder, so you have to rename the file. 2.maybe the character doesn't got a icon for it, there are tutorials showing how to fix it 3. The version of the mugen and the character aren't the same, sorry, but this one you can't fix or anything...you need to download the version of the mugen that the character was made for.

I'm pretty new to Mugen, and even with this tutorial, I'm still having trouble getting fighters installed. Specifically, I've been trying to install Ahuron's rendition of Sukapon into the game. I don't have much experience with editing the character sprites manually. But you can edit the size of the sprites (which I think also affects hitboxes) in the char's cns file.

i think i've learned something, Extract files to desktop copy the name of the files add the files to chars file put the name of the files in a note pad in character selection and you have your character on there........right?

You can do that, but you can also just put in the file location if you don't feel like copy and pasting the files in the chars folder (saves a little bit of space too). So for example instead of putting in all the character names, you could instead copy and paste "C:\Users\"user"\Desktop\"character folder name"\"character def file name".def Does this help?

I appreciate you find the video helpful, as for your issue. I would first check if the character folder is directly rooted with def file. For example: it should be character/character.def. Sometimes you have to dig through 2 folders to get the def file so you might get something like character/character/character.def
