If you bite the onion ring and it pulls out the whole onion it’s fresh. If you can bite chunks out without that happening it’s processed and usually frozen.
@mitchellvillareal1708 Жыл бұрын
They could be fresh but they could be well done, if they’re really crispy the onion won’t pull out
@juankovacs6033 Жыл бұрын
The only reason you pull out the onion is bc they use the outer layers that are harder. That's it. And if that happens it is a BAD onion ring.
@paidhima654 Жыл бұрын
There is a very thin membrane between the layers of an onion. When making onion rings you want to peel this membrane away. This membrane is usually what causes the onion to be pulled out of the batter shell. A clean bite tells you additional work has been done to prep the onions.
@Yarpon Жыл бұрын
@@juankovacs6033 that may be true but my whole point was frozen processed onion rings are easily noticeable. It’s been blended up and reconstituted. A bad fresh onion ring is still better than frozen.

I think for the Fries V Chips thing it's because baking & frying are two different cooking methods for the same kind of product, Cooked Spud. The only difference being the shape and level of crisp. We Americans probably gave it a distinct name because we saw enough of a difference between the two because of how they're cooked.
