I got some ducklings for my grand children. They needed a house so I built this A-Frame style coop.

I like the way you did this and not that you don't have all the nice expensive tools, you made this video and if your poor like me and have very limited tools or knowledge I feel I can make this for my six ducks lol yes I also bought six a year ago thank you for your knowledge and sharing

You are welcome! I didn't always have "nice, expensive tools." Ha! You are right. You can build this with a circular saw and a hammer!

I love this duck house so much! 😀 You did a great job! Thank you so much for sharing it with us (the world). It will help us build a nice home for our ducks! I love the vent across the top, the clean -out door, the insulation foil under the roof, how you don't have to worry about framing lots of walls & of course, your very special decorative touches on the front! Take care & thanks again! 🙏🏼 ("Quack, quack!" 🦆🦆🦆)

Great ideas and instructions! Only thing I would do different is add a tile or linoleum flooring material over the wood floor to sorta water proof it. Love this set yp though!

Love it Tim - Thank you for sharing. Quick question, by adding a heat lamb in the winter, would it do keep them in a cold winter keeping the duck warm in the New England winter (NY? CT)?
@TimTools99
@TimTools99 4 жыл бұрын
I would think so. Those heat lamps put off a lot of heat. the biggest thing is to have a place they can get in out of the freezing weather so their feet don't freeze.

Thank you for posting this video! We will be making two of these! Can you explain a little more about what you did for the front and back doors? It looks like there is a layer behind the plywood for the door to fit against when closed. Did you use more than one piece of plywood?
@TimTools99
@TimTools99 5 жыл бұрын
I think I just screwed on some pieces on the back side to have a backer for the door to close against.
@pinglynn1981
@pinglynn1981 5 жыл бұрын
@@TimTools99 thank you very much! We are moving along with the frame but we are newbies at this! So not sure if this is a simple question or not: how did you measure the plywood for the front and back? We have a couple big pieces ready and are unsure of how to proceed here. Thanks!
@TimTools99
@TimTools99 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Carissa. An easy way that I have found is to lean the plywood up against the end and just mark on the backside by running your pencil along the roof joist. No measuring and a perfect fit. Of course, you have to do that before you put the roof on.
