Best time to do it while you’re still young! My husband (who’s also English) went to PH for the first time in 1999 way before iPhone and social media hahaha! And since then we’ve been coming back home almost every year! All the best! Filipinos are happy and helpful - and they love being on camera lol.

I am 67 years old and spend a portion of the year living in a provincial area near Digos with my Filipina wife and her family. Although there are a few negatives, I've grown accustomed to them and embraced all of the positives. The differences between my home in Wisconsin and here in Digos make me appreciate both of them even more.

filipina here and yes I am biased. Although I am a nurse, have the English skill to work abroad, I chose to stay in my beloved country. why? as you grow older, you realize that there are things in life that are more important than high salary. the sense of community in Ph is so alive, I can talk with strangers, help other people without being judged. the happy culture and peple are generally helpful. too many reasons why I don't want to live abroad.
