I have been listening to your playing for a while. And I must say that your playing sounds better than Tommy Emmanuels. It’s more soft and with more feeling. In a week or so I hope I’ve learned Windy and warm thanks to you.

Hi, Tim! At last The Borsalino! It was the first fingerstyle song played by Tommy Emmanuel that i heard many years ago and it absolutely carried me away! Since then i’ve tried many times to learn it by tabs or watching how Tommy played it but it was too hard. I’m sure i’ll do it now with your help. Thank you, Tim!
@TimVanRoy3 жыл бұрын
I never tried it until about a week ago, but now I understand why so many people wanted a lesson on this tune. It's hard not to feel upbeat and positive after playing this a few times. There are a few challenges, but most of them can be simplified without sacrificing too much!

Tim could you by any chance give some info on the acoustic guitar that you play ? cause it doesn't seem to be an ordinary brand yet it sounds amazing. The only other acoustic that for me ever sounded as good was a faith model that i have. Eventually i got to the conclusion that price does not necessarily make an acoustic better than a less expensive one, which is exactly what happened with my Maton that sounds good but the faith seems to out perform it in terms of ease of playability and fingerstyle sound. : ) Thanks !!

I learned this song a few years ago and by far, the hardest part is the section after the d major area with all the minor 7 chords that turn back into the beginning. I still struggle getting that to sound good. I will say that I'm shocked to see someone put this as an intermediate difficulty. Everyone source I've seen lists the song as advanced.
@TimVanRoy2 жыл бұрын
Well, my difficulty ratings have been subject to discussion before 😅 It's probably because I feel I don't have any room to put the other songs in. If Borsalino is advanced, what do I label the Beatles Medley or Fuel? I'm working on a website project that allows people to label the difficulty of these songs themselves, hopefully that turns up a more useable result!

Hi Austin! This is a Mayson guitar (exact model is in the description, I always forget if it is a MS7 or 9). It's a relatively new Chinese brand, and not nearly as expensive as you might think!

@@TimVanRoy So far it's going great, I've managed to almost nail the entire first tutorial part. It's way stretchier on the hand than Windy and Warm, but otherwise not much harder. Not yet.
@TimVanRoy Жыл бұрын
@@Mantorok The stretches in this one are quite demanding, but make sure to keep an eye on your playing posture! The thumb down low on the neck will allow for a much more agile or flexible fretting hand!

Hi Dada, that is probably because Facebook does not have a copyright recognition software like KZbin (or at least, not a version where they actually pay the original composer). Maybe upload it to KZbin or Instagram, I would be happy to come over and listen!
