Adding Expansion Modules to a Compactlogix PLC

Hi Tim, I am a Controls Engineer for a facility and I have really enjoyed your videos, much appreciate the content. I find a lot of manufacturing equipment still with legacy plc’s/hmi etc. would you ever consider doing a video on a conversion of SLC500 or even plc 5 to studio5000 compactlogix/controllogix? I also find that we have to know more and more about networking between the IT and OT environment. Would love to see that as well! Thanks again love the videos !!!

Hi John. I have one coming on converting a RsLogix 500 program to a Studio 5000 program, I probably won't do anything on IT to OT but we are going to do some limited best security practices when designing control systems. Thanks for watching!

Hi Tim, I have a 1769-L19ER-BB1B Series A PLC, and I’m looking to add analog input and output modules directly beside it. I wanted to ask if I need to use specific modules compatible with this PLC model, or if there are any limitations on the module types for this series. Thank you

You would need to use the 1734 Point IO modules for that then you need to determine if you need a current or a voltage input.

You could use a 1734-AENT to add more point I/O.
