Is the blue (words of Christ) the same color in all of the Humble Lamb Bibles? I just purchased my first Bible and it looks like a blue/purple color. I didn't know if it was really different or if the picture just made it look that way. Thank you!!! 😊

I bought 2 of these and they arrived a few weeks back. I love the feel, quality and size, the BLUE LETTER text is AWESOME, so much better than RED. . I ordered one in the Blue and one in the Purple ( was disappointed half way thru they changed the color of the purple liner to mustard yellow) Yes it is a bit thick but the Dore prints are so nice to just open and meditate upon. I was surprised by the amount of Typos, especially on easy to see pages like the title page ( KJV???) and table of contents ( Lev sp?) I also found double images of the Dore prints on pages that face each other, which is VERY distracting to me personally. I am also not a Jesus Image person, and I ordered the Gilding free of that it is just plain gold without the gilded image of Christ, and I was glad they offered that at start up. But there are way to many Dore prints of Jesus. I don't care to see an image if it is just out there and I like to appreciate Dore art, but I did not count, bout I am sure 35-50% of the prints contain Christ. I expected that I guess ( it is Dore after all) I guess though I did not think that all through. These errors along with their decisions half way thru the Kickstarter to change colors of some liners after I made a careful choices from the start don't thrill me, I expected the Bible to be error free, since it is not a "baseball card" to be traded IMHO. I would also add due to its small size and thickness, I would improve on the 2nd edition by placing the references on the Inside of the column rather than the outside, so that when you open, especially is Genesis or Revelation, you can read the whole word of God without flexing the cover to read in the gutter. ICR would really make this. If given the opportunity, I would probably return these to Humble Lamb and take a credit towards the corrected and inerrant second edition, plus I missed the Bible bags somehow???? They look great.

@@Itsgettingcrazy. I can see that! Yes it really is kind of a purple hue to the blue. The contrast between the black and the blue is hard to tell, which is find for me personally as I prefer black letter text. in artificial light, so reading on my desk under and led bulb, it almost all looks black but if I am outside on the bench in natural light the blue really stands out, but I actually like the color whether it is true blue . navy blue, or purpled blue as it is not as distracting and bold as the old school RED.

I'm curious to hear what you have to say about it. It's such a beautiful Bible. There was so much design put into this edition, it's a shame people are focusing on the few minor issues that don't even affect the biblical text. How forgetful we are... I can remember issues much worse from every manufacturer over the past couple years. It didn't seem like those worried people as much.

It’s actually not a shame. You have to put it into perspective. This is a $200+ Bible and many people who may want to purchase this Bible would be making sacrifices to get it. When you’re paying that much money you have expectations. I fault no one for not wanting to buy it for those errors, including myself. I’m simply not going to pay that much for a Bible when I know there are errors like that and there’s nothing wrong with waiting for a second edition. If you are willing to embrace those errors, great!! But don’t shame people for focusing on errors in a Bible this expensive.

​@@williamburns3823you're entitled to your opinion but the only errors are 1. A typo on the copyright page, 2. One misspelling in the table of contents, and 3. Repeated pictures in Revelation. I understand being disappointed in the missing picture but it's absolutely bizarre to me that people are getting upset about the first two issues (which most wouldn't have even noticed if they hadn't been pointed out) I can think of far more serious printing errors in recent bibles. For instance, R. Grant Jones has documented how the recent Thomas Nelson KJV with apocrypha contains some egregious errors that affect the meaning of the text. Sirach 11.17 read "The gift of the Lord remaineth with the ungodly," when it should read "godly", and Wisdom of solomon 5.14 reads "For the hope of the godly is like dust that is blown away with the wind" where it should read "ungodly". And those are just the worst of the misprints. Personally these nasb history' errors seem pretty trivial, and I plan to order a copy, but to each his own.

I really enjoy your Bible reviews. I think HL should consider moving the cross references to the gutter to keep the flow of the text consistent and resizing the drop caps a little smaller. It’s a beautiful Bible no doubt.

Merry Christmas Tim, l have just seen the 10th day of Christmas give away bibles and I had to look up this bible. It is a beautiful bible, it definitely makes you want to read the bible every day as you say, it is very eye catching. What draws me to it is that it is a history book in story telling mode which will make reading the bible easier to understand. Well done humble lamb 😊

The layout is gorgeous. Im also a fan of NASB2020. 8.5p is a tad small for my old eyes and the price tag is a bit premium for my wallet. However, I really want one. Maybe next Christmas. ;)

I’ve had this Bible for a month. It was an early Christmas present. Here are a few of the issues. Gold page edges rubbing off already. And the blue on the spine is starting to rub off or flake. This bible cost over 200.00 and has more issues than a 25-50 bible being carried around and read every day. Definitely makes it not worth that price. I sent pictures to them, they said they would send a label to return and would send a new one when received. I read my Bible twice a day, and to not have it for two weeks or more is beyond frustrating. Add to that that they didn’t send the label. So I’ve reached out asking for it. Still have not heard back. Now I don’t even want a replacement because the experience of this bible is so bad. And I unfortunately believe that the replacement would most likely have the same issues after a month or two. Do yourselves a favor if you still plan to get this. Get the color tented page edges (probably less likely to rub off after a month.)

They were adamant that nobody else has ever had those issues. So no I didn’t get a replacement. Just chose not to shop with them again. For the price, the quality is lacking. I’ve bought many other bibles since that are way cheaper and better quality.

@@thestorycollector82 oh goodness, i am so, so sorry about that!! your story completely turned me off from ordering from them. i've heard mixed things, but for that price tag, taking that chance just isn't worth it. i'm going to go with a schuyler instead. i've heard many good things and that they hold up very well. humble lamb seems to me like if it's good, it's great, but if your experience is one of the ones that isn't good, then it's terrible and that's not something i want to take a chance on. thank you for giving me an update. i'm so sorry your situation with them went so poorly!

Hello I currently use an Reformation ESV study bible but would love a new compact bible. I’m in love with the designs and the size and the blue font, just curious if I would be in the wrong for switching to NASB, especially the 2020. My church preaches from esv. Do you think I could get away with this for my EDC?!

I purchased mine in Lunar Yellow and, admittedly, it is a beautiful Bible. But first printing or not, God's Word should not contain errors. Perhaps I am being overly critical, but there is nothing special or collectible about mistakes. And I am quite disappointed in the light blue color used for the Words of Christ. For me, they are nearly indistinguishable from the black text. They should be darker. I am hopeful that Humble Lamb will produce a HIStory version in the NLT with darker blue lettering for Christ's words. Do so, and I'll be very happy and eager to purchase one. Do think any negative issues: KJV on copyright page or missing Dore pictures takes away from the beauty and luxury of this Bible? Do we expect perfection on side issues not affecting the actual words of God?

That is probably the chunkiest bible I've ever seen. I don't think I've ever seen a bible that small and that thick. It's very unique, and the so-called "mistakes" don't seem like that big of a deal to me. I honestly don't think I would buy one because they're way out of my price range, and I am perfectly happy with the bible I'm using now. But if a friend wanted to gift me one, like for Christmas, I wouldn't turn it down.

I love Humble Lamb, but I couldn't get on board with this one for one huge reason and a couple of minor reasons. The biggest thing is that the font is too small for me. Next, the price. Thirdly, I don't care for single column format. There are a couple other nit picky things that aren't worth mentioning here. But Daniel really cares about the products he and his company designs and prints and if people want a quality Bible, they can't go wrong with anything Humble Lamb makes. :)

That's the biggest issue I have with Humble Lamb bibles, the price. They are great looking bibles and very unique. I especially like that they have THE WORD OF GOD instead of HOLY BIBLE, but I can't afford to spend $300 or more on one of their bibles. I wish there was a non-premium version, but it doesn't look like there ever will be.

Love the Bible even with the errors. It’s a wonderful translation. What matters is the Word, so all of this other stuff makes no difference to me..

Those woodcuts are nice, woodcuts in the Bible, makes the Bible, those older table Bibles that were so thick that used to come with all kinds of woodcuts that had all different types of topics for things as far as the people and their lives, saying all that I'm just talkin about the woodcuts I've experienced a lot of Bibles that are really old and the woodcuts is just like draw me and because the people get it and it made it look like it was all done in pencil and stuff that's why I bring it up because the drawings or just awesome.

I know just what you're talkin about as far as misprints and just things that are unique that might be a mistake that wasn't intended, it's very small and I've got literally thousands of baseball cards my dad left me after he passed away and I don't know what to do with any of them maybe I should trade him all for some Bibles, forgive me for my speak to spell cuz it don't always come out right 👍 keep those videos coming I enjoy them all.

I got this Bible a week ago and my only complaint is the cross references ! There are sooooooo many and being right next to text but not lined up is frustrating. It also adds so many little letters in the text for a 8.5 font size. The build is really good and it’s gorgeous but I really wish the cross references were less.

I tried to wait a year, but cant. I ordered one yesterday after my like 5th time watching this review. I really wanted to wait for the mistakes to be corrected, but Ill just order another one then, in a diffrent color. Maybe by then they will have another translation avaialble besides NASB, make it even more fun and will make the second copy alittle diffrent. Regardless, I cant wait for this thing to arrive.

I got the fox orange. So dope. I totally get why people are upset with the minor errors but if you look back at almost anything with errors on/in it, it makes it better whether its coins or books or video games. It always makes it stand out because youll never see it again cuz itll get fixed

Disappointed in the NASB 2020 Humble Lamb. Besides this version has missing verses. I just found out the 2020 is not the same as the 2019 NASB. It's hard to read and harder to find the verses when you need to because everything feels squished to fit in the page. I wish I can take a picture of what I mean.. Nice beautiful leather. Made well good concept.

Tim…. Encourage humble lamb to make available normal leather color options. I want a humble lamb. I want to support them… but would never spend that money on those colors. My wife and I feel the same way. We have several great premium bibles but just don’t connect to their aesthetic

Hey tim Small error: this is NOT the History edition. This is the 'HIS story' edition. History is HIS story. The history of our world is HIS STORY. So it's pronounced HIS story not history. But this is great vid. Made me want the bible. Too bad they did it in the 2020 version instead of 95. Sad.

I just bought this bible, and I was disappointed at how small it is. This should be classified as a compact, not personal. FYI this guy has tiny hands.

The workmanship on mine is not great. The corners are meh. the spacing between the gilt line and the fold of the cover goatskin is not even. the art gilding has a wavy pattern because it is slightly unevenly applied. this is all not to mention the weird size (too thick and too small for what it is marketed as -- it should have 10-point font and larger pages to display the artwork). I applaud Humble Lamb for being different, but this Bible is confusing.

The "Drop cap" terminology is very non-intuitive to me. The caps aren't "dropped" at all: they're *very* *present* , "in your face" and emphasized! And technically, many of the capitals used here are not drop caps, but initial caps (of which a drop cap is a subcategory of)! See wikipedia for examples.

Even if the font had been larger, I can’t get past it being called HIStory. I know most will disagree with me, but in this day and time, we cannot afford for others to think that the Bible is a story. It’s more than that: it is THE Word of God! Daniel missed the boat a ways off on this one.
