I've been making these for years! But I use a can of salmon drained, a box of tomato and basil wheat thins crushed, and an egg. It has just enough sweetness to taste like crab. Mash it all up, throw in a hot cast iron with oil.

I made Sardine Fishcakes recently, as I didn’t have anything else in, and I actually regretted buying the Sardines, as don’t really like them. I had Potatoes as well, Eggs, I used Oat Flour instead of Plain Flour, and added some chopped leek and a bit of Cauliflower, Paprika and a touch of Garam Masala (didn’t have any mustard, Dill or Lemon).. The Sardines were definitely a lot nicer in Fishcake form. I’d use Mackerel next time (my favourite), or Tuna.

This is bloody close to my Mom's Canned Salmon Cakes ... except we usually use leftover rough mashed taters. Never added Sweet corn before. Weird maybe but ALL corn tastes sweet to me. And with Soda Crackers instead of stale bread. But still both end up with yummy lil cakes. I'm gonna have to try a lil fusion with this recipe and my Ma's next time I make them/fishcakes up.

Grandson doesn't like tuna but loves mackerel. Might adapt this and use a dollop of horseradish in place of mustard.

Could also use dijon mustard if you have it and don't want the harshness. It work's very well with mackerel :).

Thank you for your professionalism! ❤ And a little bit about what the Bible says about work. God wants us to enjoy our work. The Bible says that “there is nothing better for a man than to ... find enjoyment in his hard work.” (Ecclesiastes 2:24) God works hard. When we imitate him by working diligently, we please him and feel a sense of satisfaction. ❤

Thanks for this. Shops in general dont sell nice Fishcakes. And this is EASY to follow and make. I think most people think making food is complicated. You show ut dont have to be. Maybe you should make a channel especially for noobs. That way you would attract even thos who know nothing and teach them 🙂. "Noob Food" is a good name 😁👍. This video would fit perfectly 🙂

Help us think better and smart about cooking jamie! to become comfortable with food again, be masters again! I like tin seafood, something about how the can preserves the meat is just excellent to me! canned sardines and goat cheese and olive oil is my favorite YUMMY, buttery quick snack. WHOAH, love how you made this food your b***** and turned it into balls. Unique idea. and soooo simple! gorgeous ingredients for the slaw :D. I think the fancy slaw and feta made this dish sorta posh. sorry Mate.

Pretty poor recipe, just tried it. First, it's not quick at all so all this "I'm busy" and need something quick is nonsense, took me over an hour to get everything together. Second, one egg is NOT enough, you need 2 minimum. Followed the exact measurements on the website for this recipe and no, no, one egg results in them falling apart. Third, he doesn't show the rolling in flour and pressing down resulting in a paste forming in your hands sticking to the next fishcakes as you try to form that which falls apart even quicker due to a lack of egg binding. Never making this again, sick of these videos showing how "easy" it is when it's cut and edited.
