Loved her back then, love her still now. She is such an amazing human and incredible vocalist. She gives me chills every single time I hear her sing. Definitely one of the best singer/song writers to have ever come out of Australia, Tina Arena is in a star class and league of her own.

Tina Arena was so much sexier with black hair when this was originally recorded, and sounds better maybe? Or am I just holding onto those distant memories. Her newest album recentish, is awesome btw. I guess i'm just too hooked on the original studio production of this. It's good, but studio version better IMO. We all love you TIna, still, and forever :-)

In the 90's Martin & Molloy used to sign off with this song at the end of their program & I always waited to hear it , the voice of an Angel ! The lyrics are so true .

No doubting that was live vocal anyway, she was pretty flat for most of the first 30 seconds but salvaged the performance brilliantly after that. Nobody seemed to notice !

So they held this one in the vault for twenty-five years, apparently? A shame. My guess as to why it seems the players are miming would be that the production had PA for voice and playback only. Think about the logistics of either shuttling touring bands on and off of the stage, or rehearsing a house band to play across genres. I think this performance is thoroughly beguiling. At this time, Ms. Arena was just getting a strong foothold in music. There she is, center-stage at the most prestigious event of her industry, belting out a song she wrote. This is a triumphant day for her. If she dances like a child doing Expressive Movement, or wearing shoes that don't fit, that just adds to her charm.

Why is the band miming if this is appears to be a live show?

Tina Arena: 1. Singing sharp a lot 2. Holds notes uncomfortably long a lot 3. Has she heard of makeup? 4. Dances like Elaine on Seinfeld 5. Dresses like Kramer on Seinfeld And yet: 6. It’s a great song 7. She belts it out like a pro 8. God help me, I love it. What the heck is wrong with me?

Please she always had that big voice. She does her own style..she been doing this since she was six way before Celine was a star .. if your Australian you’d would know that🧐🇦🇺

@@aussiekat6379 and you'd know that Celine started at 12, and has big voice too. I'm referring to the way T is moving around the stage, and looks very similar to C.

@@imho2278The only thing that I think they have in common is that they have big voices and can sing! I hate how people compare artists to each other.. sorry 🙅🏼♀️

Tina's vocal not just big but have a good vibra too which Celine doesn't have. Celine's vocal on live was not always as great as her recording vocal. But Celine really good at pitch on every live show.
