Jurgen Nyerenyere but Gospel is not just about who can outsing who. When we start thinking like that, it takes away from the fact that Gospel is designed to glorify God and not man.

This was beautiful. I have a whole list of people I wish you could do an analysis on because I LOVE when you do them. But could you do an analysis on Tamela Mann if you haven't? And I wish you would do one on yourself and tell us your vocal range and maybe demonstrate because your voice is beautiful.

I agree with a lot of your analysis of Tina. I've always said that she was a full lyric soprano, because even though it is full and strong, she doesn't carry enough weight to be considered a spinto. I however don't think her lower register is that great...live anyway (very weak and unsupported imo). I also think her growling technique is a bit rougher on the chords than it should be, but it works for her. I think for the most part though, her technique is very solid, which is why her voice has lasted. You can definitely tell she improved over the years. Yolanda Adams and Karen Clark Sheard are two of the women who are my favorite in gospel.

@haviercarlostorres66988 жыл бұрын
I enjoy your vocal analysis of various artists. Would you consider doing a vocal analysis of a singer named Amber Bullock...I'm my humble opinion, she is awesome! But I say awesome because of the way she movies through notes in her riffs and runs...if she had stronger power in her voice, she would be unbelievable...but I digress...

She is also my favorite singer! She is one of the few singers I can think of who rarely uses her falsetto voice in the upper soprano range. That is a dynamic talent, & I have actually never heard her falter on the microphone! Her notes, whether low or high, are usually 100%, even live. And a PREGNANT Tina had this uncanny ability to sing LOWWWW....the Mary Mary Christmas special's version of Now Behold The Lamb introduced me to the baritone in Tina, & I fell in love....
@dafuture938 жыл бұрын
Great analysis! I would love to her your take on more male vocalists (Stevie, Luther, usher, etc.) I definitely would love to her your views on Michael Jackson...maybe a 2 part video on his voice as a child (a boy soprano, with a lot of power, excellent phrasing and emotive technique far beyond his years) to a man (a lyric tenor...I think lol, with incredible range lots of colors and textures to his voice). His styling changed a lot too...he's was more of a riff/runs type of typical soul singer and as a adult he abandoned riffs and runs (he still did them but much less prominent part of his vocal style) and developed a style that had more character and distinctiveness to it. I think it would be the perfect Segway to discuss how to incorporate character and style with technique. He's my favorite singer, not necessarily for his technical capabilities (even though he was impressive to me in that area esp as a kid) but for his expert emotive sensibilities. No matter the genre....
@dafuture938 жыл бұрын
Or subject matter, you can truly feel what he's singing. He had a voice that was very good at capturing expression and emotion while also being very versatile...that's something that can't be taught.

Great analysis. I definitely appreciate the knowledge you drop in these. I was wondering if you could do a comparative vocal analysis of Kelly Rowland, Letoya Luckett and Michelle Williams. Everyone focuses on Beyonce but these ladies also are good singers who have definitely improved at their craft in the last few years and often get overshadowed.

ineedya123 oh my bad, didn't realize she deleted it. I can't find it either but I see that she has a much longer video titled "Kierra Sheard vs. Karen Clark- Sheard vs Brandy Vocal Analysis". Haven't watched that one but I watched the one on Kierra Sheard when it was up. This other video is more than 2 hours lol. I once watched a long video of hers and kept making decision repeatedly I was going to cut it off in the next 5, 10 minutes because I couldn't justify spending that much time on social media considering other tasks I wanted to do, but I ended up watched the whole thing, and never had a boring moment, even when she is talking about nothing she remains very interesting
@ineedya1238 жыл бұрын
yeah I will admit I like her long stuff bc she is interesteing too, but mose people ? naww Im not really watching a 2 hour live stream. I REALLY wished she live streamed more and put up more material. I love Kierras voice so I would watch her commentary on Kierra bc I love hearing her, but she did delete it for some reason. I think in the live stream she sells Kierra short, I wished she did an update:(

I know you get so many requests on a regular basis but would you ever consider doing a vocal analysis on CeCe Winans? She's one of my favorite gospel singers ever and I would love to hear your thoughts about your voice.

Can you show how to help improve a voice you've kinda damaged? 😩 I'm no Tina Campbell but I once sang backup and docs told me I damaged my vocals
@hillbaby024 жыл бұрын
Just talking. Why note give us audible, if not visual examples of why you have your opinions on artist. At least for people who want to learn what you are talking about, because the average person doesn't know the difference between a dramatic or lyrical Soprano. They just know Tina sings high.
