She said she couldn't recognize the music as (Moonlight Sonata) when you I and most people know it was not only played correctly but flawlessly. So that lead me to believe this creator didn't know the the difference between 3rd movement from the 1st... As for emotion and Tina S. ? It doesn't get more emotional than this.. Just Look at her. total concentration. No flash cloths; Seated; Flat black back drop; Guitar has a blond neck for contrast to her hand. No exaggerated facial expressions; No huge & cool amp. stack showing; It's all about correctly executing the music for her, Not look at me I'm so cool.. Just the music .. @@HalkerVeilShe’s French. So, if she went to a public university, it wouldn’t cost much. Even if she went for a PhD, it’s only going to cost a few hundred euros per year. Private university is a whole different story. But, public uni in Europe is way cheaper since it’s subsidized by tax revenue. And depending on what she got her degree in, it may still be useful, even if she decides to be a career musician. Or if her music career fails, it could still act as a fall-back. Sadly, here in the US, it’s often a waste of money. I make more with a GED and never having set foot in a college classroom than most of my college graduate friends. I have family members with masters degrees who can’t find a job in their field because they either don’t have the openings they qualify for, or they’re “over-qualified” for positions they can find.

As this is a note-for-note transposition of Beethoven's original, if you were expecting a particular section you must have mistaken it for another movement or piece. The backing track is from the original guitarist who transpose it for guitar : Dr Viossy Tina S videos are never edited, except one time for "Through the Fire and Flames" where you have time to time the point of view of a cam put on the headstock, which is a wink to Herman Li who often put a cam on headstock on his videos. (But she had a lot of bad commentary from trolls about this, people saying it's cheating etc...)

The moonlight sonata has 3 movements : First is Adagio Sostenuto, relatively slow, around 65 BPM, and is the most famous. The second movement is Allegretto. Around 100 BPM. And the last and third movement, covered by Tina here, is: Presto Agitato. Around 175 BPM. And Tina even sped it up.

people that have heard moonlight sonata sometimes confuse this with the much more well known 1st movement, which is very different and slower. contrary to other believes and comments there is no sped up video with Tina, she really is that fast, there are many uncut videos, where you can see this, with naturally moving hair and other stuff.

Not sped up...this is the accurate speed of the 3rd movement on the piano. Pretty much note for note, at least I didn't see/hear any deviation or error! I know this piece very well and its pretty much perfect. No multiple takes...this is what 13 years of intense practice gets you...I think Tina was only 16 or 17 at this time, and was the last video she produced for many years.

There are some adaptations due to fundamental differences between guitar and piano. But they were kept to an absolute minimum. She did a lot of stuff that it's not really *normal* to do on guitar, because apparently it's technically possible. And she also throws in a couple of minor things that guitar can do that piano really can't (e.g., there were a couple of small bends).

He's a composer and music educator, who knows Beethoven piece inside out, and he explains all the technical aspects of how Beethoven wrote it, and the instructions. This is the third movement, which is meant to be played at this frantic pace. On this reaction, there is actually a comment from Renaud Louis-Servais, Tina's guitar teacher, who filmed this. This is a cover, of Dr Viossy's arrangement of this, for electric guitar.

Why she can play like this, it's called practice and dedication. This produces muscle memory. She got her first classical guitar when she was 6 years old. The guitar was bigger than she was, then at 13, she got her first electric guitar, and there is a documentary showing her with her first guitar all the way up to 13 playing the electric, Tina stopped posting videos after this one, and went to study, after that she formed a band, and in 2023 started posting again, now 25 and a few tattoos and bleached hair later, she still plays like a Goddess, at 15 she plays, THROUGH THE FIRE AND FLAMES and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, enjoy. 😊

The story, as I heard it, was that Ludwig had a very pretty student, to whom he took a liking. He wrote the first movement for her, to be a piece of great beauty, but one that she, still something of a beginner, could play (with some tutoring, of course). As she got a bit better, he wrote a shorter, but slightly more complicated, 2nd movement, which he thought she should be able to master. Then she got married, Beethoven got pissed (possibly in both the British and the American slang senses). He then wrote the 3rd movement whilst thinking something like "Bitch never gonna be able to do this one." I'm old and my memory isn't great, but that's (mostly) how I heard it.

She started classical guitar training at the age of six. There is an additional video giving a snippet into her progress up to the age of around twelve when she switched to electric guitar. Tina Setkic was born 7 April 1999. After the recording in 2017 she went off the grid to study at university. She re-entered the music scene last year as a member of the band Spin Twice. However, she, again, disappeared being harrased by "bullies"... Tina S. is playing at about 140 BPM. That's noticeably faster than any concert pianist I've heard. The metronome was invented in 1815, fourteen years after the Moonlight Sonata was published. And though Beethoven was an early adopter of the metronome, and I believe he did add metronome markings to some of his earlier pieces, he did not add metronome markings to the Moonlight Sonata. So exactly how fast the piece is played is left to the discretion of the performer. "Presto agitato" is pretty damn fast, and some people think Beethoven's metronome markings in his later piano pieces are insane, but it isn't always breakneck speed. Tina's speed, though definitely on the fast side, is not at all out of keeping for this piece, and her performance is impeccable. About a year ago, I got into an argument with someone who insisted Tina was taking it too fast, and I checked the BPM for several famous pianists to compare with Tina's tempo. I also checked the score for metronome markings, and I checked out the construction of pianos from Beethoven's lifetime. The pianos from that period have a lighter action, allowing faster tempi without too much strain and without the sound getting muddy. They're even called by a different name--fortepianos. Steinway's innovations came in the late 1840s and 50s. So Beethoven's fast metronome markings aren't as impossible as some people think with old style fortepianos.

Music is the Art of sound where people communicate and express emotion . Just because someone has the technical still to play a billion notes a second doesn't make it music . Music needs to be honest . Again if you want to listen to the Moon Light , I highly recommend listening to Rubinstein . If you want to listen to Beethoven's Late Piano Sonatas , highly recommend Brendal - many would argue Kovachevich or Emil Gilies . If you want to listen to Rock listen to Pearl Jam on MTV .

KZbin is a miracle of sorts. Tina S put out a significant fraction of the most superb guitar performances of this millennium, while still a teenager. No cuts, no edits, no trickery. Talent and long, hard work. Tina got over 1M subscribers. Rayactions spent several minutes not recognising the piece (likely the 1st movement; under 30 seconds, excluding ads, to find it, and recognise it), then wondering aloud how the video might be faked, concluding it wasn't.
