Tina is a legend, possibly my favourite female singer of all time! Her voice is incredible and so unique. Another artist i was lucky to see in concert. My Dad even managed to get me a signed poster from her when she played locally in the early 80s as he worked security on the night, but unfortunately I think my Mum misplaced it years ago when we moved house. Grrrrr lol

Hands Down, The Greatest Comeback In The History Of Music!!! When this track and its parent album “Private Dancer” was released 26 years after her very first recording which was 1958! She was 43 years old at the time and was out of the spotlight for more than a decade! Ike & Tina’s peak was “Proud Mary” which went to #4 in 1971! I was shocked when I saw this music video which appeared out of the blue! This was pre-internet where I would get most of my information about new releases by going to the Record Store and talking to the vendor behind the counter! I did not read about it the paper and don’t recall any television specials printing Tina’s new project so I was shocked, in a very pleasant way to see and hear the second coming to Ms Anna Mae Bullock! This was actually the 2nd single released from “Private Dancer,” the first being a very soulful rendition of Al Green’s classic “Let’s Stay Together,” which did moderately well (#26 Pop) but the music video was not widely seen and the track came and went rather quickly! “What’s Love” appeared to be a slow burner that then raced up the chart and went to #1 for 3 weeks and she received a Grammy for Best Vocal Performance Female for this song! The music video is incredibly savvy and Street smart! She has a new look to catapult her into the 1980’s, these sexy/raspy vocals and her undeniably sexy physicality, which she owns! All the stars lined up for her with this track! She paid her dues after leaving Ike starting over in Las Vegas and playing nightclubs in the late 1970’s/Early 1980’s for years Her resiliency paid off! In her book, “I TIna” she mentions her comeback started when she appeared in Olivia Newton John’s 1980 television special “Hollywood Nights” and met ONJ’s Manager, Roger Davies, who was instrumental in orchestrating her landmark return! ONJ and Tina Turner collaborates with Toni Tenielle, Karen Carpenter and Peaches (from “Peaches And Herb”) on The Eagles “Heartache Tonight!” This one off performance was never released on Album or CD! The music video was shown that one time the special aired in 1980! The KZbin Clip is worth seeing and reacting to!My favorite Tina Turner song of the 1980’s is the 2nd single and less popular track from the film “Max Mad: Beyond Thunderdome” called “One Of The Living” from 1985! She is undeniably fierce in that clip. I hope you react to that one too💕

wow! so ppl were shocked - like that's tina turner? proud mary? ike and tina, tina? lol. so cool and her comeback COULD NEVER HAPPEN to day, it's good to know that music hadn't becomes completely ageist yet. and the onj connections is sooo cool. def gonna check out more tina. how could i not! lol

@@EmpressReacts Exactly! I knew she was a legend and I only saw her on television specials and clips and on record covers! I was aware of her celebrity but she was not popular in the 70’s after she left Ike! She did an interesting segment from the movie, “Tommie” by The Who! Check out “Acid Queen” music video! It’s pretty out there’

This song is about her recovering and her feeling a little jaded from her abusive relationship with Ike Turner. The movie What's Love Got To Do With It came 9 years later in 93. React to her songs Prod Mary, Better Be Good To Me, It's Only Love, We Don't Need Another Hero, Typical Male, Two People, The Best and I Don't Want To Fight please.

Just discovered your channel...Very very interesting. Usually the channels that i prefer are the ones where the reactor hjas no idea of what they are listening to, and i usually dont like when the reactor knows. There's something about you that makes it work so well. And it's in part that one can feel you true honest artistic apprecciation of the material. You are sharing your love and enthussiasm for the songs, and that makes it fresh. In 1984, when this came out, i used to entertain my schoolmates by doing my Tina strutt doen the school's halways and making them LOL. It was a preety good imitation, if i may say so, jajaa. Im 52 now, but even then i was gay AF and i owned it. Anyway, you are lovely. Virtual hugs form Puerto Rico to the Empress

She also appeared in the hit movie Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and stole every scene she was in. Tina was one of the definitive acts of the 80s and is an eternal classic. ONJ introduced Tina to her Manager, Roger Davies in 1980 when Tina appeared on her television special called Hollywood Nights! They collaborated on a song and music video which was a remake of The Eagles “Heartache Tonight” along with Toni Tenielle, Karen Carpenters and Peaches (from “Peaches And Herb”)! That collaboration is rare and off the chain! It was shown on television once and is not on Album or CD but there is a clip on You Tube!!! I heard that Olivia was considered for “What’s Love Got To Do With It” which may have been interesting but better that Tina did that one! There was also speculation that Tina Turner was considered for “Physical” and “Toughen Up” (a song that ended up on ONJ’s “Soul KIss” album). There were parallels with Olivia and Tina in the 1980’s because they shared the same manager!
