Thankyou for the vid, and your efforts in teaching us. It seems Neosporin is the most used item in my house, do you think you could make a vid on how to make an antibiotic ointment similar or better? I just got a plastic canning funnel at wally mart for 2.99

A comfrey salve is great for quick healing of CLEAN wounds. Check out my video on this. I’m getting ready to make a new video about Oregon grape root, so stay tuned. Adding some Oregon grape root tincture or powder to the comfrey salve base would be great for many WELL-CLEANED wound needs.

They make spatula's that are very rubbery, flexible that you can shove up in there and get the stuff out of the jars real easy, they'll even snug up under the lip for the lid and scrape that too. Most of them are even good up to like 500'F for cooking so are very versatile for many things. it sure beats using your hands, especially if you are working with stuff like stinging nettle.

That sounds great! I think all my spatulas are rather old and stiff. Probably time to invest in some more.

What is the average cool room shelf life of a tincture?
@dr.mindya.curryndpassionfo75902 жыл бұрын
The short answer is herbal tinctures have a shelf-life of several years as long as they are made and stored in a cool room away from direct light. The industry standard is to put an expiration date on any herbal supplement that is consumed, for an alcohol tincture that is usually around five years. However, traditionally tinctures are prized for their very long shelf life. I’ve heard herbalists talk about how alcohol herbal tinctures that were laboratory tested after ten years and still good. Tinctures can go bad, especially in those little dropper bottles due to reacting with the dropper rubber. Taste, smell, and look at any old tincture that you have. If it seems fine, it’s probably still useful, but probably isn’t appropriate for marketing to patients as it may not be at it’s best anymore. It may be less effective if very old.
