I guess it's mostly that people feel too awkward about handing over animals to shelters and such. that's why a lot of places have special drop-off boxes for people to give away human babies with no questions asked (the idea is that it's better to make that "too easy" than to make parents keep babies that they really don't want). at least the old cardboard box method for puppies and kittens makes some effort to increase the animals' chances of being found and decrease chances of getting run over.

It was probs a breeder, coz the pup was anaemic (lack of iron*) and also had hearing issues, it would cost money to cure them, and so they dumped the pup. Or, a more extreme reason, the pup's family was abused, and a person in the household didn't want the pup to go through that, so they tried to save at least one pup, even if they would get punished for it. Yes, much more extreme reason, but real all the same. P.S please correct if wrong. *McKenzy Epperson corrected me, thanks.

The ones who do evil things like this are lower than the snakes that crawl on the ground. Wondering if there's any security camera footage of them leaving the box in the hot sunshine....may the karma-God run over their dog-ma! There is a very special place in HELL for these snakes and the flames will not consume them until they have been punished long enough for Justice served. The Bible is very clear about how mankind has "charge" over His creations and creatures AND we are told that we are to be kind and treat them with respect...If God cares about a lowly sparrow/bird that has fallen....how much more does He care about the animals that give us unconditional love, companionship, protection and comfort ? Reminds me a little of my pup. When she came to us, mother had found her tied to a porch when doing work for the church. She was ratty, depressed, and dying of hunger. Something lit inside me and despite being fairly young, I did all I could to help her. She grew strong in the coming days, and she became my best and only true friend. Lucy ( her name ), was my pup for 23 years before she finally left us. It was a dark day that day, but I honor her, and I remember.

Actually you can't. I found a puppy while walking my dog and the Humane Society would not accept it (but they did accept his dog food) because he was not my dog but a stray. I was told to take him to animal control.

Aye, I want a dog. Always have but was never allowed one as a kid. Trouble is as an adult I live alone and work long hours. Dogs are pack animals and the isolation in a flat would probably drive a dog mad. And I don’t have the funds to afford to send it to a carer. Sometimes I wonder if they leave the puppy on the curb on purpose in a neighborhood they know people can take care of them. It might have a better survival rate than at a shelter. I'm being optimistic, but maybe they just don't have the funds to take care of another dog or something. Then again, I have no idea how you could abandon a puppy anywhere.

Animals are collectively the true blessing we as people have been showerd with and yet we are so pathetic that we treat them badly. No not all people are cruel to animals but way too many of us are. I am so grateful to have been blessed with various dogs every day I can remember stretching back over my 74 years. They have, each and every one of them given me way more than I as a person could ever give them. The way I feel about it is they give us, without holding back their hearts their love, their everything and we give them a bowl of food and some water and a blanket to sleep on and if we can spare the time an occasional pat. I have been blessed with one and sometimes two dogs at a time every day of my life and I can never thank God enough for having blessed me with this wonderful gift. 20 years back my family and I moved to Chile and I have kept the ashes of the two dogs we brought with us from South Africa - we have our Darling little Jellytot, a beautiful wonderful little Chilean born terrior who is now almost 14 years old. Sad to say I can see with dread the terrible day approaching when she will leave us. My wife and my daughter both know that who ever is left when I pass away, is to mix my ashes with the ashes of my beloved dogs. They have always been such an amazing part of my life and I want them to be an amazing part of my for ever after.

Blind dogs can have wonderful lives if they’re with the right people. Our wonderful little poodle went blind at 6 years old due to diabetes. She lived a full life to the age of 13 years old. We just had to watch her, and not leave her on our bed alone, carry her up the stairs, and keep her away from harmful situations. She knew the layout of our kitchen, family room, and where the door was to go out to potty. I would clap my hands to guide her to me if she walked over to get a drink or her food dish. She was one of my special gifts in life. I miss her so much.

Thank you for taking Jackson in. Special Needs animals are the best. I volunteered at a cat shelter for 2 years. I fostered and eventually adopted a special needs cat. He had a neck tilt and polyps in his nose. We had a great year together. You give them unconditional love and they give it in return. Meet you at the Rainbow Bridge Tut. 🌈🦋 Miss you.
