Tinker's 'Ultimate Carry' S&W Model 642

It turns out I might not be a complete idiot since the new Ultimate Carry J-frames from S&W are somewhat similar to what I came up with for my own use. Kind 'the Ultimate Carry' we have at home.

Switch to a brand with charcoal filters. Probably have to roll your own in the US because no brands have them. Japanese cigarettes are great though! Too bad Japan Tobacco doesn't seem to import! Seven Stars and Mevius FTW!

@@TheAcenightcreeper No, Obviously only a complete stumblebumfukk of an idiot would interpret what I said as anything close to telling someone how to live. It was more like a friendly reminder that we all need to take care of ourselves, but not at the expense of our pleasure of course. I believe moderation is the key to a good life. I would think myself an aashole by not offering a friendly, yet inconsequential reminder of the importance of healthy living to a friend. But of course I am not telling anyone how to live their lives, we all know the risks that come with anything we do now and are free to pay the tole and takes the chances...lol

It's a very well designed custom job, something S&W should have offered a long time ago. I had a model 36 but sold it to a friend who kept bugging me about it. Bad decision on my part. The new S&W Ultimate Carry in .32 H&R mag. sounds intriguing. It is lighter than the Ruger SP101 which makes a big difference as a pocket carry, and can shoot 32 Long and Short if necessary. Thanks for another quality review.

My unmodified 340PD is the no lock model carried in a Blue Force Gear pocket holster w/110 grain +P hollow points.

My EDC is and probably always will be, a 1911. I have plenty to choose from so they get swapped around quite often. However, I also have several revolvers that get carried a lot as well. My favorite carry revolver would be a toss up between a model 10 S&W and a Colt Detective Special. I also have a couple Colt Police Positives, (32-20 and 38 S&W) that I made into Fitz specials. They get carried a lot in cooler weather because they just sit well in my coat pockets.

I would rather have your 642 with it's current modifications, than the new Lipsey's model. At first glance, I thought those were ivory grips, but I like that they are American Holly grips better. Well done!

I have an S&W 640 Carry Comp with a 3" barrel and she is my baby but in a perfect world, S&W would make an ultimate carry model with a port like mine but chambered in .32 H&R Magnum so I can have that 6th round and have a lighter weight gun made with lighter materials.

I hate the way the Lipsey's "Ultimate Carry" is not offered in .327 federal mag! What are they thinking?? They offered the 642 Carry Comp in that caliber. I heard the rationale was that would have required a scandium alloy frame, making the offering too expensive. Personally I would like something like the classic model 30 3" but in .327.

Actually it would be better if it were made of solid Californium , at 27 million dollars a gram you could sell it and buy two 32 HR magnums and 1000 rnds of ammo.

You wouldn't be under gunned carrying a j frame any of the time, IMO. Thanks for the video! I think I will look for an ultimate carry. You can't have too many j frames 😊 can you?
