The first bottom end I ever did, this video gave me the confidence to do so. Since then I’ve done at least a dozen. TinMan I found if you heat the case on the opposite side the bearing, it doesn’t have the tendency to grab any heat and come out easier. Thank you for your videos Amigo.

Those old cases are excellent, I've never had one from that era with bad bearing pockets. I would rather have a used OEM than a FT, never tried the NPW. Might need to put one into a test program. Have 3 from that era in the junk pile. 300 degrees the magic number for me and my turkey roaster :)

The only reason I learned about Hyway products at wolf creek saw shop was because of this channel. Had a question on something today so I called Ryan . Quick and effortless service shipped within an hour of my call. The service at wolf creek is the best hands down.

You mentioned building up a 2005 (old) saw. I just built up a STIHL 064, manufactured in 1986! 😅 Great content and great channel. Thanks for all your videos!

When using a heat gun to heat the cases you will find heating the outside/ oil pump/ flywheel side works better and a safer option. Heating inside the crankcase one runs the risk of overheating the coating inside the crankcase around the bearing causing it to lift, sometimes days later sending bits of the coating into the bearings and top end. I have seen this in Stihls especially. If the coating has lifted be sure to remove it.

Did you know you can microwave the bearings instead of a heat gun or torch? Just wrap the bearings in wet paper towel and it won’t arc. AVE had this on his channel and it works mint

Great video Tinman! I built a 372 with an NWP crank and Hyway 52mm big bore with pop-up and so far so good, this saw gets run hard. And all the parts came from wolfcreek saw shop from your recommendation. Ryan has been great to deal with!

I like Wolf Creek he's done me good on the parts I've ordered I have a Wolf Creek sticker on my g660. I probably need to upgrade the crank in my g660 before I machine the cylinder. She will spin up to 1450 purity quick out the cut now lol 💣

Show us NEXT TIME putting the seals in on that 372. BTW, if you’re going big bore then I’d recommend a crank for a an Xtork because of the inherent balance required for a big bore.

hey Tinman. great stuff. I'm building my first 266xp. I was wondering if you would share some timing numbers with me. I've done quite a few other saws, but never a 266. I want it to be strong and reliable. I normally get my timing numbers from Uncle Harvey , but you are the 266 master. I am using a Meteor piston with a stock Mahle cylinder. Thanks in advance for your time. Shelby Wright.

Have you ever done a "turbo crank" or a "vein crank"? What's your thoughts on those? In my mind I feel it would add power just because it increases the volume of the bottom end (similar to grinding the cases) but you know better than I do

Hey friend, I'm actually in the middle of the exactly same build same saw, parts kits and everything how long exactly did you heat the case with your heat gun to get it hot enough to drop it over the bearing i have the exact heat gun too lol

For the work involved to make it properly and pull STRAIGHT and not wreck a case, just buy it, and you will find they will work on just about any saw.

I have a brand new Husky 445 X-torque that I want to up the size with a new jug and piston. is there a combination that I can go to for that.? I have any tools in the world of mechanics, Imperial and metric, I used to build sprint cars and a few custom modifieds ( a stock car type) but I owned and drove open wheel cars. I also did setups on other sprints and miiidgets, for other owners, Once I retired my operation, I sold my custom hydraulic tubing bender and my big TIG welder. I still own my whole enginer repair primarily but still emphasizing all kinds of street cars, modifided, sprints, midgets working for other owners primarily with Small Block Chevies--5.7 liters; 350 cubic inch or bored out. I want to start a shop working on 2 strroke engines , for chainsaws and race Karts. or other 2 strokes.

Be interested to see what you could do with that saw. Unfortunately I have no experience with those so I can't say if there's a bigger top end that would fit.
